Yes, I know Cortana was created from a flash-clone brain of Doctor Halsey. However, in the vid, she was clearly talking to someone, and the 'great minds think alike' line is reminiscent of when Cortana picked the MC. Hence, we can assume Halsey is talking to another AI about picking our new Spartan hero.

@Captain Planet Planeteer Power : I doubt it's Cortana, she "picked" John well before Reach was attacked. I'm guessing it's either a new AI based on Halsey's brain, or it's Captain Keys.

I dont think it would be Keyes. Keyes died at Halo, they would have had a flashed clone brain before he left.
I'd bet that it's a new AI. From what I'd wager, AIs were created pretty often considering they only had a 7 year "life span" before going rampant.

Well, had it occurred to you that it might be a flash back or they are having a summarized lead up in the story that branches off the book?
The alternative would be that she is talking to Cortana's older sister, "Kalmiya" (If I spelled it correctly) about the new generation (that she isn't supposed to know about!)

@Ratfoot It's nice to see they've actually gotten a grasp on how faces are supposed to look is what you should have said. If there are two things that are a constant gripe against Halo so far it's the annoying little kids who populate the online games and the ABSOLUTELY GOD AWFUL facial structures from the past games. With the exception of a few main characters in the games everyone else has looked like their face was made out of a crumpled paper bag.

Well I'm not %100 sure but I don't think cortana was on autumn at the start of the battle. She could be talking to her, asking witch one she wants to ride in. there is a chance that the whole game could be noble teams mission to get cortana onto the autumn. Thus starting the halo story as we know it.

I would love nothing more than for master chief to show up, take names and kick ass but it (probably) won't happen :(

The Spartan IIIs were 8-12ish when they started their training, more than enough time to develop accents. Jorge, the lone SII in Noble Six, can get away with it because he's a beast.

@Istari Spartan: Each Spartan was conscripted as a child, so they would still maintain an accent. Also, they weren't all from the same planet, let alone the same star system, so different races of people could have colonized different systems, thus maintaining their respective accent. For example, Harvest's governor has a Southern US accent and personality.
