I'd like levels to be more open personally.

Or add coop. Seriously, I realized that the only games I will buy have co-op.

Mirror's edge has been a great game. One of the favourites from my massive backlog i'm working through.

I think I can safely say this is one aspect of Mirror's Edge I've never given any thought.

I'd love to see a new Mirrors edge game but I'd like to see the controls changed around a but. I felt they where a little clumsy with all the triggers and the fighting was a little strange but could be easily fixed with a new control scheme. I'd also like to see a more open world that you could explore a bit instead of a liner path that you have to take. I think what I like most was the Full body FPS view that didn't break no matter what you did like roll or climb. It was very immersible that way.

The controls were excellent, it gave the game depth and made you feel like part of the game because you had to react and actually do each step rather than just hold a button and watch. Controls like in Assassin's Creed are too passive. Controlling Faith was a skill that you had to practice if you wanted to do advanced things, more games should do that.

I agree that the combat wasn't the greatest. It kind of forced you to use the bullet time feature often, which made it better. It's forgivable in my book, since combat isn't the focus of the game.

However, I thought the controls were brilliant. The fact that there are so many moves you can do that are designated to two buttons essentially is fantastic. An Up move or a Down move. It's so intuitive.

There are certain moves that could have been a bit easier. I remember some tricky wall jumps, for example. I wouldn't change the controls though, just improve the execution of the trickier moves.

Mirrors Edge was great at the start.. it progressed into a shooter..
I never got why we use red as a danger colour, when in nature it's yellow

More routes through stages, less combat.

If Mirror's Edge 2 gives me that, I'll be happy. I loved Mirror's Edge, but the strict linearity of the game was a lost opportunity and the combat, well, the less said about combat the better. No more mandatory combat sequences, DICE. No. More.

I love Mirror's edge, I just hope they announce a sequel and make it so that there are several ways to get from point a to point b.

I really wanted to love Mirror's Edge, but had a lot of problems getting into it. Played the demo like 5 times, then got into the actual game and just lost interest after about an hour.

That said, I think this is a series where a sequel would be a good idea. I'm sure the designers learned a ton just making the first one and could really shine with a second chance at it.

I enjoyed Mirror's Edge. It was one of the turning point games for EA, and I definitely think they did a good job with it. Although for ME2, the shoosting needs a pretty drastic overhaul, I played through the game on hard recently and MAN was it ever less weird playing with those guns.

"A: Jump (Yes, the button that is synonymous with jumping)"

Not really.

"Granted, it’s a First person RUNNING game, not a First person SHOOTING game, but come on…Mirror’s Edge didn’t even have iron sights. This is inexcusable. What needs to happen is that you have a weapon, but for the purpose of MAKING you run and not turning it into "

One of the more ignorant statements I have ever seen. This person has obviously never played a valve game, or the numerous other shooters that don't have iron sights. All he seems to be is a MW2 fanboy, and most of his other ideas were pretty dumb too (that control scheme? really?).

The controls are perfect as is. They flow well, they don't need to change. Likewise, Faith not being an expert at using firearms is reason enough that gunplay is somewhat gimped, and should remain so. If you choose to use a gun, it should be heavy and somewhat unwieldy, because she's not a buffed out marine. Just because a lot of players are used to playing shooting games doesn't mean the main character has to respond like she's in Call of Duty because you're good at those games.

The one thing I'd like to see is some element of stealth implemented. You're already encouraged not to use weapons against your enemies, it would be great if they gave you the option to not engage them at all in some areas. All Faith needs to do is carry a small mirror she can cup in her hand to peak around corners.

I finished the game twice on the xbox 360.

Now that i grabbed this on the steam sales for $5 and noticed how freaking smooth the gameplay is compared to consoles ... i am finishing it for the 3rd time and enjoying it the most.

I love this game so much when it comes to running and jumping. Hate the combat and the story was meh,.

MORE Mirrors Edge!

I think a more linear Mirror's Edge would be exactly the opposite of what I'd want them to do with a sequel. I think the first game had a pretty good mix of intense running through linear areas and calmer exploration segments. There were really cool parts that reminded me of the gameplay from the old school Tomb Raider games, essentially platforming puzzles, figuring out how to get from point A to point B. I want more of that.

But I always want the opposite of what happens :/ ... except when they made ME in the first place :P
