Damn.

Looks like Toy Story 3 Just Danced all over Madden.

I hear TS3 is a pretty decent game, too.

Modern Warfare 2 is STILL selling? Holy crap! I don't think I've ever seen a game sell this well even 9 months after its release.

Considering it's only just jumped back into the charts last week and this week, I wouldn't really call it selling 'so well still'.

Im curious to see how well Madden sells worldwide in its first week compared to 10. I bought it I must confess, but I do hope that they drop significantly so Tiburon can put some effort in next year....here's hoping...

I love Madden 11. The only thing I would like to see in 12 is a greatly improved online experience. I'm not surprised to see an EA game have trouble online... but hopefully the next installment can surprise me.

Overall I think its better than last year, but imo it's time they fix some things they havent looked at in a while. Like franchise mode, like user DB animations(there's one where they put their hands up, but they dont even go past the facemask, it's really annoying lol) , and like Chris' commentary along with overall game presentation.

I hope they tune the defense/running game as well, cuz it's way too easy to big runs off, or over pursue on D because the man has to go in a semi circle to turn around.

And yes, I hope they improve online franchise mode as well, that would be great. And make it where someone can't quit in nthe first half and not receive a loss(that's just dumb).

this ends my soapbox lol

I'm pretty sure as soon as the NFL gets into its regular season, Madden will start selling. Pre-season hardly ever gets noticed over here in the UK.

No one should be surprised at all that Madden barely sells in Europe. Very few people watch American Football and it's reflected by sales of such a game.

Games like FIFA, Tiger Woods etc. would sell a lot better though I wonder why people pay full whack for these titles. Their resale value is so pathetic and EA are so mercenary with their DLC and advertising that they don't justify a high price.

It's only just jumped back into them in the past 2 weeks after discounting of the DLC or something like that.

Which brings up the point - does anyone still make rugby games?

There's still a few. Might only be the one series but I've seen them from time to time.

To be fair to Handegg I do prefer watching it to rugby (even though we never show it on TV here), I just hate how you can't pass forwards in rugby, attacking is the best part of watching any sport and while a good run in rugby is fun, most of the game is just so slow.

But I would play it over American Football anyway.

How can you prefer watching Gridiron. It's the most boring sport ever invented.

I watched 1 game and it took them over an hour to play 3 minutes worth of game.

Maybe it's cuz I'm a noob, but why don't I ever see articles on here about how games are selling in the US? I understand why people would be interested in how games are selling in the UK (I have no problem with these articles), but why aren't US sales newsworthy?

@FlashJS i believe it's because US sales information is collected over a longer period than Japanese or European sales info. so you've probably just missed the article somehow.

The NPD is released once a month and is mentioned here. Don't blame Joystiq, blame the NPD release dates.
