Gran Turismo 5 launches in Japan November 3 with blue PS3

Gran Turismo 5, the racing game with the most ironically slow development ever, will arrive in Japan November 3. It'll be available not only in a ¥7,980 ($93) standalone pack, but in a first-run Limited Edition with five DLC cars and a 308-page book, for the same price.

Sony is also releasing a ¥35,980 ($421) PS3 bundle, called the Gran Turismo 5 Racing Pack, including the LE of the game and a special "Titanium Blue" 160GB PS3 Slim. This joins the recent white version and the Final Fantasy XIII Lightning edition in the set of awesome PS3 Slim variants unavailable to most of us.

not digging the blue... didn't like the Madden 10 PSP bundle in that blue either.. if they are going to do a special GT5 console, at least they could have done it right and made it have some sort of special graphic or chrome something on it.. the blue just looks cheap to me

Not the best shade of blue imo, but still cool.

I think Black and Red would have looked better and it would have fit with GTs color theme. Blue doesn't look good for any console except maybe the Wii

Seriously? Who the hell would buy that ugly piece of shit? It looks like Sony took a call from Fischer Price and then convinced themselves that they weren't targeting that vital 24-32 month-old market.

See, I thought the red ps3 controller needed a darker shade, but now I think it's great; I love my red controller.

This blue might seem a little odd for a while, but it will grow on you if you give it the chance.

Matches my PS1 debug kit, too bad I already bought a slim.

Usually companies will sell their products in different colors to countries where they sell so well. Compared to Japan, US sales are poor.

I was thinking about picking up a blue controller but the whole ps3 in that metallic blue is just sexy.

Don't care at all about the game, but a blue PS3? Very nice. I'm assuming it's the same color as the blue PS3 controller released here. I'd definately pick one up, but I'm sure it'll never see our shores.

I have the black PS3 slim, but I hate the boring black and white colored consoles .... been there, done that. I would have LOVED a red PS3 slim, but this blue one is nice, too. I'd be willing to get the blue one if it releases stateside and then give/sell my 1 yr old slim.

GT5 Better be the greatest racing game ever made, else everybody is going to rip it a new one.

@ben linus actually there are many consoles out there but from i can remember what you said is not true. most significant console systems are not black

nes, snes, gamecube, wii, dreamcast, playsation1, xbox 360 are not VS ps2, ps3, xbox1, sega genesis

Console makers need to keep with the trend of how other electronics look. Look at bluray players, tvs, set top boxes, surround receivers and then try to design something that will coincide with that while still having the ability to make someone say "hey, what's that?" without being an odd color.

It's a bummer that those variants are never released in the US or Europe... That's why I saved to buy Lightning edition when it came out, as I knew it would never make it here anyway....
