Monday Night Combat grabs XBLM charts by the Moneyball

Following the trend of Summer of Arcade titles landing in the top spot on the XBLA sales charts during their release weeks, Monday Night Combat was top dog on last week's chart, which was released by Major Nelson. The online shooter also placed a respectable 11th on the Xbox Live Activity chart, leaps and bounds ahead of all other XBLA titles. Additionally, Limbo held its own with a second-place finish on the sales charts, one spot ahead of the more recent Castlevania: Harmony of Despair.

Meanwhile, Baby Maker Extreme slipped to fourth on the Indie Games chart. Now we're going to be worried about it all week. Click past the jump to see how the rest of the console's offerings fared.

Meh, it's like saying the pile of dog poo that looks the prettiest is the best b/c it's not as ugly as the rest of the dog poo. There's not really much decent competition on XBLA. The only other good shooters are Battlefield, Perfect Dark (which nobody plays), Shadow Complex and maybe Blacklight Tango Down

Monday Night Combat is decent fun! Especially with friends! I love playing as support and sapping the health out of everything! :) I wish the Medic in TF2 could do that but it would probably unbalance the game. Also I voted you down because of your poor choice of words and because you actually like Blacklight tango down.

I'm very happy with my purchase of this game. It's Team Fortress having a baby with a tower defense, and to me that's just loads of fun. If you haven't bought the game already and love good online shooters, this is a must have.

Love the game, hate the price. $10 is my limit for XBLA games.
I'll almost certainly pick it up when it becomes a Deal of the Week, though.

@Prox if you bought 2 other summer of arcade games, you get 400 points, which would drop the price to $10. If you bought all of them you could get this game "free" with the 1200 points they give you

i love this game, love the online.

Great game, but hopefully they'll fix it's lag-filled glitching sometime soon.

Fun game, hope they add more maps and play modes.

This game is the most fun I've had ever. The only downside is the annoying glitches like the jackbot overhealing glitch

I absolutely love MNC, one of the most fun games I've ever played. Once they fix the lag issues every few games it'll be perfect.

If I had a 360, I would totally buy that game just for the fruity green smiley guy in that picture.

Monday Night Combat is completely awesome!! Easily in my top 5 all time XBLA games. I'm sure I've put over 20 hours into the game.

That one got away from me. But really, for once I have a game that is completely awesome AND I'm actually really good at! Good mix, eh?!

I've been considering grabbing MNC, anyone think it's worth the points? Any major issues?

There can be a good amount of lag when the host sucks, and if the host rage-quits it'll drop most of the players and migrate the rest to a new game. The demo comes with, what, 30 minutes(?) of online play, so give it a whirl.

I agree with everyone's positive comments on MNC. This is by far one of the funnest online shooters I've play especially being an Arcade game. You will not regret paying $15 for this game its well worth it.

I was thinking about getting this, but I'm going to wait and see how the devs support the game.

Game is a ton of fun online w/ friends. Deserves the top spot. Honestly, it's a lot more fun online than most retail games.

I think I may get it now. I was mostly worried about the community dropping off. I didn't want to spend the money and have no one playing in a couple of weeks. If it's this popular though, I might as well get it.

I see Joystiq has this categorized as PC and XBOX, so does that mean it's confirmed for PC?

It hasn't been confirmed for PC, but the devs have strongly hinted at a PC release. I believe many of the devs are actually big PC gamers.

What does this have to do with PC?

MNC is a good game.I won it in the last Joyswag, Glad I did otherwise I probably would not have bought it.

I'm disappointed that Rock Band 2 isn't in the top 20. Just seems like that's a game we'd expect to see kind of high up the list...
