Video: There is no G in Dead Space 2
32
The Dead Space 2 Gamescom 2010 trailer may not have any Necromorphs lurking about, but that doesn't make it any less terrifying. Oh sure, it's just Isaac rocketing into space and subsequently avoiding various detritus, but take a second to think about it. One misstep and you fly off into the inky blackness forever, helpless to stop the inertia. Okay, he does have rocket boots, but we're afraid of space, okay?

Here's the full gameplay scene:

The sheer amount of possibilities of ways to die in this scene is staggering to me.

I actually prefer this stuff to shooting mutated space-lings in tight corridors all the time anyways. I hope there's lots of exploring and tasks like this.

No, you flew upwards towards the sky. Then your suit got cold and you fell back down to earth ungracefully.

Have you seen Iron Man 2? I jump out of an airplane, and I fly to the ground dodging fireworks. Hard not to be reminded of that. And yes, my games do suck, but my movies and comics don't, therefore I am still the essence of awesomeness.

If you were even a second under 18 years old, you would attempted what Issac did in that video. 100%.

Old ONE? Weren't there several variations on the helmet as you upgraded? The best was the level 6 suit which I think you could only unlock on a second play. It's the space marine suit from the ship that crashes into the Ishimura halfway into the game.

That looks crazy. I want to see the gruesome Isaac Youtube death where he gets sliced in half by some floating space debris.

I don't get how that mechanism is suppose to work... Why do they have a chair that you strap into that shoots you into space and then immediately eject out of?
And how the hell does smashing through a tiny opening not break all his bones on the way in?
And after he smashes through the ceiling, what is preventing all the oxygen from being sucked out into the vacuum of space?

@fohf And while we're at it, what's up with that camera following Issac as he's flying around? Hardly any shaking either.

Looks a lot like the "going down to the planet" segments from MDK and MDK2. In fact, that was the first thing I thought, and during the video I chuckled to myself because this sequence in DS2 apes the segment from MDK to the point of almost parody. I amused me that a game with such a serious tone would have a sequence so similar to a goofy/comedy action-adventure game.
Dead Space 2 still looks good, don't get me wrong.

What's MDK?
Anyway the first thing I thought of was Kratos and all of the falling/flying sequences where he was dodging things, as seen in GoW 2&3.
In fact God of War 2 was the first time I remember seeing this particular mechanic.
