How does THQ make any money?
They practically threw Red Faction Guerrilla at me when I bought Metro 2033 lol.

@den69 through word of mouth, if i get the game free i might convince a friend that doesn't like FPS's like Metro to go and get Red Faction after falling in love with it myself, and thats money into THQ's pocket... Red Faction was and still is a great game.

Well, Microsoft won't allow them to give it away free, so it's either going to be a pre-order bonus or a paid-for digital download, as the man says.

@Bowlby

If it's free on PSN it has to be free on XBLA.

Microsoft has no say on what they charge for the game unless MS is the publisher of the content.
The problem is everyone thinks MS wont allow free games. MS charges a fee to publishers to have the item on the market place even if the item is free. It is up to the publisher if they want to eat that cost or pass it on to the consumer.

I have downloaded plenty of free items on XBL before

@KingOfGods

Isn't Aegis Wing free? And it was built in-house at Microsoft, I believe. Pretty cool game, too.

If it's 800 it's not cheap, it's normal. Dead Rising has shown how to price tie in Arcade games (since MS is stingy with free games)

1200 is becoming the norm. So yeah, 800 is still relatively cheap.

Free sounds like about the right price for this game.

So they want to release it for free, but they are already discussing DLC for the game.

Hmmm, kinda sounds to me like giving you a bottle of Pepsi that is 1/4 full for free, but you have to buy the rest to fill it up, thus making it like the bottle wasn't free in the first place.

@Dawg605

Yes but it's 25% off full price.

I would love it if it was free, but wouldn't mind if it was $5, since thats what I have left over after buying Monday Night Combat. and theres nothing on the marketplace thats worth $5 thats good or I don't already have.
