Fly the TARDIS in third Doctor Who: The Adventure Games episode
20
Traveling through time is tough. Unless you were lucky enough to be born as Jean-Claude Van Damme, Doc Brown (or his young companion, Marty McFly) or something, it's pretty much been a crapshoot for most of us human beings. The only other possible option has been to meet The Doctor.
A more realistic alternative than trying to track that dude down is to play Doctor Who: The Adventure Games and BBC has announced that the upcoming third episode -- due to launch on August 27, but only available to UK residents -- will give players an intimate look behind the blue doors of the TARDIS and even let them pilot it. For the unaware, the TARDIS is the it's-a-police-box-but-not-really structure that allows The Doctor and his companion to traipse through time and space. So it would seem that next week Einstein-Rosen Bridge enthusiasts will finally have a viable fix!
Now if only we could fast-forward to next week. Jean-Claude, if you're reading this, would you mind helping us out?

I really don't know why but whenever I see Doctor Who on Joystiq my mood goes south. I'm sure it's a great series but maybe I just don't like BBC

Jesus, Harsh reaction?
it's always the same picture of the game, and forgive me for having a opinion about the show its based on. The episodes I watched, I didn't like.

Give the series a chance, I watched an episode or two out of order and I didn't like it... but once I watched through the first few episodes of S1 I was hooked.
However, this game is an injustice to the series. Gameplay and graphics are mediocre, and the most annoying thing of all...
DAVID TENNANT IS NOT THE DOCTOR!
I mean really? I love the new doctor, but just not as much as David Tennant. I really wish they would've at least given an "outfits" or "characters" option in the game to switch to your favorite doctor.

@lparAgonl That isn't his name. That is the title of the show. He is simply known as The Doctor.

@Kyammi Wow, I guess the whole world owes you a debt of gratitude. We should all give up any games developed by our governments. Let's start with the Canadian government: Oh yeah, we have none.
I'll agree that it would be wonderful if the BBC made this available to all, but it's their choice, not ours. When PBS makes a free game for everyone on the planet, then you might have a leg to stand on. But NASA and the Army are do not have entertainment as their mandates, and so for them there is no conflict of interest.
For the record, I didn't downvote you. I was honestly asking a question. I'm Canadian, and if you guys don't know shit about us, why should we care to learn where your games come from?

Maybe I didn't give the first episode enough time, but the gameplay in the first hour or so wasn't amazing. It could have been because of the budget, but everything was just exceedingly linear and not really interesting either.
I'll stick to the tv series, especially since the last season was amazing.

These games need more emphasis on Amy. EVERYTHING needs more emphasis on Amy.....not that I'm obsessed with Karen Gillan or anything.
Although if they did make an episode where she got to experiment with Anna Kendrick.....err.....umm......excuse me

Dave, I just want you to know that even if no one else comments on your hilarious mailto links, I sure as Hell love them! This one was ALMOST as funny as the one about having 'a hot bod and an eye for spartan armor'. :D

Joystiq says: "...due to launch on August 27, but only available to UK residents..."
Meanwhile, Joystiq's listed source says: "Users outside the UK will be able to purchase and download it on its UK release date, 27 August."
Someone needs to read better. :)
