did the first one even sell well enough to justify a sequel?

oh boy, I'm gonna get the collecters edition. It comes with a actual mini saw puzzle you can mount on your hand. If you don't solve the puzzle in 15 minutes, it will cut of your little finger.

Didn't the first game get incredibly low scores? Well hopefully they made this game to prove something to the world instead of with the aim to make more money.

@protofunc Except that the fact that the movies are gorier than anything found in the Saw game. Hell, Fallout 3 had more bloody moments in it than Saw.

A friend let me borrow it last month, and I was surprised. Not a fan of the movies, but the game was an enjoyable 6-8 trek. Not worth a purchase unless you're an achievement whore (I actually got all the trophies, no sweat!).

I debated buying the first one for a long time, I am a fan of the Saw movies and while I fully expected it to be a horrible game, I just had to try it. I was completely shocked about how much I enjoyed playing it. The circuit boards got old, but other than that it was complete aces for me! I am a huge fan of the original RE games but since RE5 came out, I have been feeling like the survival horror genre is basically dead now. I can honestly say that I am hyped up to play this game but the release date was a let down. It makes sense for them to release it then, but at that time I will have my hands full of great AAA titles. But for anyone who enjoyed the old silent hill or RE games I recommend Saw. It may not be as good as they are, but it is still creepy and fun. Plus I am sure you can pick it up from anywhere for around $5 now. It also has the added benefit of easy achievements. One play through the game and you can easily get all of them without going out of your way.

@TrickyBandit

thx for your comments. I might just try and find the first title to check it, despite the negative reviews it got. I also love the SAW movies and the creepy music in them at the end when the whole plot is revealed. It gives me chills just thinking about it, which is a good thing.

Back in the day, I loved playing the original SH and RE games. I didn't find the SH hill games that scary but the music in the RE games for RE1 and RE2 scared the piss out of me. I've always said that if horror movies that that kind of music in them, they would scare the living shit out of kids and adults. Music makes movies and just as well can make a game scary, too.
