Kane and Lynch 2 shoots up UK sales charts

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days has stormed the UK sales charts in its premiere week to hold the top spot -- for ransom, no doubt. According to Chart-Track, the dubious duo's first outing only reached the number 14 spot in its second week of release back in 2007. It would seem the two have gained a significant following in the meantime.

The rest of the chart involves the usual suspects, with Toy Story 3, Red Dead Redemption and Lego Harry Potter holding the next three spots in the queue following Kane & Lynch, respectively. Ubisoft's Dance titles keep on movin' and shakin', as Just Dance moves up the chart to the fifth spot and Dance on Broadway gets knocked down by the understudy to ninth. Whatever else goes on in the charts, those Dance games refuse to leave the top ten.

Also, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has surpassed Brain Age (known there as Dr Kawashima) to become "the biggest selling UK title ever" after 41 weeks. Out of those weeks, it was absent for only three.

@zefur Brainy Gamer had a review of Toy Story 3...said it was great. Gives you a big sandbox to play in.

Yeah, but just dance was for casuals and kids, which on the Wii, outnumber hardcore gamers twice over :P So when every mother in the UK decides to buy Just Dance for themselves and the kids, its no wonder it stayed up there so long. Saying that, Just Dance (while casual) isn't a bad game, I had fun playing it, Kane and Lynch however is -_-

Shoot, my older brother almost tried forcing me to buy Just Dance since he refuses to buy Wii games. The Wii may be mine, but I'm not going to buy games that don't intrest me.

I didn't hate the Demo. But it wasn't one of those "I need this" game impressions. Good for them though, making money after the first one tanked.

cant blame them, i was excited for K&L as well. I ended up giving it a rent, i sure am glad i didn't buy it. Its an ok game just not for me. I give it 2 1/2 stars.

I've never understood that picture. What exactly is going on? Lynch looks like he's about to go crazy on some foo's, and Kane looks like he's shooing away the paparazzi.

Most impressive thing is the amazing SC2 sales crash, looks like fanbois will only get you so far when you release a mediocre and outdated game with a crap online system. Guess they still have Korea and their e-sports though....

I like the firste one, and yes i only just played the beginning of K&L2, but its great action, i like the game so far !! if you likede the demo, my guess is your like the game ;-)

...and the levels are nice to, but then again i hated gears 2, with its cover-every-where-with-out-reason-levels....

Well that not my point, but why did the Locust build cover all the way down to there own base ?, (build to help attackers!!, not the defenders) just so its easy to attack ???

I can easy se K&L2 becoming boring in level design later, but so far, it has been great, i ...only have one complain so far - i know cars dont blow up in great-hollywood-style ......but it sucked you cant shoot the tyres....yeah i know ..small complain..but i wanna shoot tyres

@The2ofus Maybe you should play Gears 2 on Insane, see how far you get without ever taking cover...

I done complan about the cover, I complain about the reason , why would the locust help attackes ?, I like my games to feel like it could be real, but if i where the locust i would never put in a lever, the attackers could pull, and get instant cover ???

@The2ofus How would the Locust know which way an attack is coming from? either way it's a cover based shooter, if they left out cover because it didn't make sense, you wouldn't be able to progress.. if they made some of thr softer cover destroyable, like Bad Company, it would be almost unplayable..

The locust easy know where the attackerscome from, i meen the whole underground level was build as an invite to attack..

Anyway, instead of the samy-cover on gears 2, they could have used:
death worms, old machines, other stuff that make sense...

i can't be blamed for this.. Think the last games that I purchased was Crapdown 2 & War For Cybertron.. there's been nothing else interesting, next game will be Reach unless there's something I don't know about..

@The2ofus I meant 'retail'.. I was getting bored of the Deathspank trial by the 30 minute mark.. I might get the Lara Croft game.. depends if the levels get stupid later on.. I noticed then magnetic grappling hook didn't need line of sight at the end of the trial level

Im putting my money on Brink, that looks kind of promising ;-)

I wonder if these sales are because IO is a European developer getting support from the locals or because people in the UK were generally interested in this game.

Good news then, K&L2 is a decent if arcadey cover shooter with solid visuals and excellent audio. I'm more than confident that most of the haters in these topics have never played the game, and give far too much credit to reviewers (many of whom are on the take or are trying far to hard to appear discerning and sophisticated).
