NHL 2K11 passes the puck to iPhone and iPod Touch
8
2K Sports has announced that, tomorrow, puck enthusiasts on the go will be able to access a version of NHL 2K11 optimized for iOS devices -- the first officially-licensed hockey game to lace up its skates on the iPhone and iPod Touch, actually. Sadly, 2K Sports has not furnished us with any media for the new game, but has revealed that it can be yours for $1.99 during its first week of availability.
The company also promises the scaled-down skate-'em-up will sport "a new control system designed from the ground up; animations and graphics taken from the console version of the game; and fully realized season, shootout and free skate modes of play." You can find it on the App Store starting tomorrow.

Errrr... They have a hard time making the console game great. I highly doubt the iOS platform will be a great fit. But hey, I might give it a shot.

Lite/demo first. 2K blows, so I'm extremely skeptical.

if reviews are good - i'm definitely picking this one up. haven't played a hockey game since 2k9 for PS3. now i have so little time to game and the iPhone is always with me.
if it's the only hockey game on the app store, than they should probably strike first with an iPad app too.

@darrell < yes i'm replying to myself.
tried the LITE version and it's surprisingly good. you can only play a quick game for one period. passing and shooting is a little tricky but i think with practice you can learn to score easier.
i paid $2.50 for a bag of chips earlier, how can this be a bad purchase?
