Let me guess, you're 14-17, live in the suburbs and have a middle class family yet you think you've had a hard upbringing and think you're deep?

The "music" these guys play (if you can call it that) makes me want to vomit all over my plastic guitar.

Idea!

The guitar buttons should be transformed into real videogame characters. And like the Voltron, they should unit to create a mighty Space Battle Axe Guitar to defeat the evil gods of "UnderROCK"!

This should make those b#llshit plastic guitars relevant for another three sequels.

Activision, I accept cash and checks.

what part are the "wings" on the guitar? i don't see anything special, it just looks like a regular plastic guitar controller in the picture.

@spikeylee the neck houses all of the electronics, so the "wing" part of the guitar comes off and is interchangable with other designs.

didn't know these new guitars have all the internals housed in the neck now. gotta admit, that that is a pretty sweet feature to be able to switch up the guitar body like that!

thanks, man.

The Soundgarden thing would be more monumental if it were a whole new album and not songs we've all heard before. And if the album were available for download in WoR for free instead of paid DLC. Otherwise, WoR looks to be pretty bad ass.

@ccc Yes any moron will be able to pick up a real guitar and play 4 TIMES harder songs than GH this fall. Including you, moron, because you're obvoisuly in the stone age. For someone talking shit, you really don't know anything. If GH really kicks ass difficulty wise then where is their pro mode? It doesn't exist. Their normal modes are exactly the same except for the RB games are more accurate and consistent with their tracking. As of the moment that Pro Mode was announced GH LOST the "we're more difficult than RB" battle. There is ABSOLUTELY no way you can make a coherent argument for GH being MORE DIFFICULT than RB now. Anyone with half a brain and a pair of eyes can see that without a doubt. You made your argument, and it's wrong. Next time you insult everyone in here back your dumbass talk up with some REAL information. Not stuff that you have talked yourself into believing because you refuse to accept the truth.

I think I could use some more plastic peripherals to replace the real instruments I'll be using in RB3 this fall. I don't know what I have in front of me this fall but it definitely includes even uglier GH Guitars. Totally psyched.

I've been thinking this for a while, and I'm finally gonna say it.

Yes, Rock Band 3 will cater to the kids who want to learn how to play music.

But I already play guitar, bass, drums, and piano. I just want to have fun.

The music of Rock Band 3 doesn't exactly appeal to me because 95% of the songs are just in there to show off the "Pro" mode or the piano peripheral. I buy these games not because I want to learn how to play an instrument, but because I like playing video games with my friends (who are also musicians.)

I don't understand why everyone thinks that stumbling through Free Bird in Rock Band 3 in "Pro Mode" on a fake guitar is more fun than playing along to songs in Guitar Hero.

And this is coming from a hardcore Rock Band fan.

Im sorry but you say you like to play video games but then you say you dont like RB3s sound track.....Wha....i dont even?

Have you actually seen the RB3 guitar? It is a real guitar. You can buy real guitars that are basically RB3s guitar (my son used to have one). You can also use one of those real guitars instead of the RB3 guitar. When Guitar Hero allows you to use REAL instruments as controllers, call me.

@Billlop

I personally have no want, need, or understanding of why you would want to play a video game that was designed to simulate music with a real instrument. If you want to use a real instrument that bad, then go pay for some guitar lessons.

Yes, I have seen the RB3 guitar, it is just another piece of plastic with buttons, but instead of 5 it has, like, 120. If you want to use a real guitar, you're gonna need to spend $200-$300 for a cheap Squier, in addition to the price of the game and other required hardware, like the new piano peripheral. Personally, I'm going to spend $60 for the Guitar Hero disc (I'm gonna use the instruments that I bought with Rock Band 2) and play songs I like, as opposed to spending 200 for a new guitar, 100 for the keyboard, and 60 for the RB3 disc. That's a rough $360, more or less, for songs I don't like as much and some features I don't need.

When a program on a disc can teach you how to play Free Bird, Beast and the Harlot, or The Hardest Button to Button on a guitar, come tell me. It's not gonna be as revolutionary as everyone's making it seem.
