PDP announces lineup of Kinect peripherals
53
"Peripherals for Kinect? How does that work?" you might be asking yourself. First, we would point out that every article of clothing you own is technically a Kinect peripheral. Second, the first Kinect peripherals from PDP aren't the kind you might expect. Rather than offering up plastic tennis rackets or lightsabers, PDP has announced a line of products (first glimpsed at E3) to help consumers mount their new Kinect in various situations.

@gevenstaines WTF is a table? anyone know what it is? I'll be safe and buy the floor mount, just in case. I dont want to be stuck with new fangled technology such as tables.

And guess what... that gets you two more players and the ability to play it. Plus... Move is applicable to normal games that you already play. I don't see any titles getting Kinect updates/ports. It's also very possible to spend just as much on the Kinect, and still only get two players. The thing is, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY OR MAKE ANY OF THAT STUFF TO USE MOVE. You can play without the Nav controller and you don't have to buy more motion controllers. With Kinect you have to either risk your purchase with a homemade mount of some sort or buy one JUST TO USE IT. You don't NEED more Move controllers, you do NEED a mount for your Kinect.

For the record, I am buying both Move and Kinect. I buy just about everything for my consoles.

Title should read:
"Coming to a Big Lots near You!"
I can see this stuff pilling up with all the other worthless wii accessories.

Nintendo wants me to live in a house filled with Ikea products,Sony wants my balls to glow and MS wants me to build a studio to play with a creepy tiger and stalk a virtual 8 year old boy.
..k Can I just sit down and play my games with a regular controller on my old smelly but comfy like I am used to?

$40 for a TV mount that should come with the damn thing? Really? So the price tag on Kinect says $150, already $50 more than Move, but what they really mean is $160-$240. Add an extension cable and a TV mount and you're looking at around the same price as a refurbished system. I had at least some respect for Kinect's premise but Microsoft is really trying to gouge people with this now. With them expecting people to be playing the thing on an flatscreen HD TV you would think that putting something in there that allows them to do that would be a priority, especially when your motion peripheral is the most expensive on the market.

Are there two different companies named PDP? Because I am horribly confused as to why people known for making drums are now selling Kinect peripherals...
