It's a great week for Xbox 360 owners who possess a great deal of pent-up aggression, as the two-week PSN exclusivity of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World comes to a halt this Wednesday, August 25. The highly stylized, chiptune-enhanced beat 'em up will run you 800 Microsoft Points ($10), which is roughly equivalent to the price of a Scott Pilgrim movie ticket -- an item apparently covered in some kind of fatal, diffusive poison.
If you're looking for a beat-'em-up with more ... well, stabbing, you'll also be able to pick up Klei Entertainment's Shank for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15). That's a little bit more than the entry fee to Scott Pilgrim, but we're sure that's only because of discrepancies in the Canadian/American currency exchange rate.

@cylet Even though Shank looks cool because of the $5 price difference I see Scott winning.

Amen to Lara Croft being great. While I thought Limbo was very interesting and really enjoyed it, Lara Croft was more straight-up fun for me. My only complaint was that the controls were a little too complex for my girlfriend.

Everytime I hear about Scott PIlgrim's disappointing box office numbers, I want to curl up into a ball and die.

Agreed. It was such an awesome show and had such a terrible box office return. I don't know, maybe if they had released it at the beginning of the summer or something.
Regardless, took my wife and our best friends to it and will be picking up the Blu-Ray version of the film when it comes out. It was a visually invigorating experience, and I'm happy to have seen it on the big screen.

Seriously. Is there like a movie for it or something? I was at the theater this weekend and didn't see anything, and I've not seen anything Scott Pilgrim on DVD or Blu-ray?

If you live in America, stop everything. Pick up your phone. Call all your friends, go to the movies, and see it now.
Best movie Ive seen all summer, and I go to a lot of movies.

@Morph156 I've already been once, intending to go again, and will absolutely buy the BluRay when it comes out. It was actually seeing the game here on Joystiq and playing the demo that got me interested in the storyline, and so I started reading the books and then finally went to see the movie.

No reason to downvote me. I seriously had no idea this was based on a movie. Apparantly nobody in North Alabama is showing it.

@Vegeta has a ps3 - I blame the marketing. I asked a few friends if they wanted to see the movie, and they had no idea what it was about or who was in it. None of the posters show Michael Cera, and none of them give you any clue what to expect. "An epic of epic epicness" says absolutely nothing of importance, and makes people think the movie is for children.
I blame the casting a little bit as well. Absolutely no bankable stars in the entire cast, for a movie that cost a reported 60 million dollars to make. What did they spend their money on? Original songs by Beck? (I love the song "Ramona" but...come on). I didn't like the casting of Scott either. I love Michael Cera, but he wasn't right for the part. They needed someone more charismatic.
Oh well. We better enjoy this movie, and make it a success on DVD/Blu-Ray, because it is the last one of this type we're going to see for years.

I think this is going to be one of those cult movies that gain more appreciation after it comes out on DVD kinda like Fight Club IMO. But in all honesty I believe it should have been at the top of the list, Eat Pray love can suck it, and as far as I'm concerned the Expendables is crappy old actors or wanna-be actors trying to bank a check and sadly its working. Also I saw that Vampires Suck movie online. That thing was terrible. Don't get me wrong i appreciate anything that makes fun of that detestable twilight series, but its just awful. Still i guess this just means that gaming culture hasn't quite expanded as much as we thought then huh?

Seriously, it makes no sense at all to not put online co-op in Scott Pilgrim. NONE!
It makes even less sense that I still want to buy it so badly. DAMMIT!

I made this argument for about a week after I saw the movie. Then I discovered I still had 13 bucks in my PSN wallet and picked it up. I really hope they release online co-op though. I'll gladly pay for it if I really need to and I don't ever buy DLC.

I'll enjoy it on 360 as a 360/PS3/Wii owner thank you very much.
Though, I'll download the demo, because I really don't understand the hype for it or why it's supposed to be good.

Is the preorder offer not good for the 360 version? i got this for the PS3 with a worthless Home T-shirt for $9.
I need my friends to come over and play again. We played all the way through until Gideon's stage in 1 sitting. Then we ended up watching Kick-Ass.
I definitely plan on getting Shank, but I'll wait for next week to consolidate my purchasing efforts with Castle Crashers and whatever good Rock Band DLC comes out.

I played the Scott Pilgrim demo on the PS3 and I have to say I didn't really have much fun with it. It was a demo though, so maybe I need to play the whole thing. Shank looks great, I can't wait to play that.

@thehallowhero Once you get the levelling and the persistence that comes with the full game it IS a lot more fun. You can basically run through the same area a few times to level up your character and make them more powerful and they'll stay that way when you return to the game.
