I haven't been following this game at all, but does this mean that the story of the game is ONLY concluded in the DLC?

@Acosta02

Not really, it's more of an epilogue. Morrigan leaves after the end of the game, and it's very vague about what happens. This is a more specific epilogue for her.

The "end of the story" is just a way of saying that this is the last dlc. I think.

No, the story of the game is concluded in the game. This is the conclusion to a larger mystery that many assumed would be handled in Dragon Age 2.

I don't think I was? I actually buy a good amount of DLC myself, so it's not like I automatically hate it.

And thanks for the answers, guys.

Nope, Dragon Age 2 overlaps with the latter part of Dragon Age Origins. The only way that is possible is if he is from the future. Possibly sent there by Morrigan's son to protect her from a golem apocalypse and an evil golem named Stonenet.

Hawk comes from Lothering, he is not Morrigans son.

Why does everyone think she'll be having a son. She comes from a line of female witches.

@Mazrael No this is physically impossible and Bioware has confirmed this is not the case. Dragon Age 2 starts with Locke already a young boy/girl as his/her family is fleeing Lothering as the Darkspawn destroy it (which takes place at the beginning of Origins and just as the Wardens have met Morrigan.)

Also the encounter with Flemeth seen at the beginning of Dragon Age 2 is in the same time frame, before the Warden comes back to confront Flemeth for Morrigan's companion quest.

This is the first time I spent more on DLC than on the main game itself. And I am not sad in the least.

Now I need to blow another 30 hours getting a character that doesn't do the Morrigan ritual to see a different outcome in this DLC.

@xNeverEndingx Depending on how much DLC is included with the Ultimate Edition coming out in Oct.

If you have a 360, you missed the big 2 week sale they had on Dragon Age DLC (Awakening expansion for $20, normally $30-$40, Warden's Keep for $5, normally $7, and Return to Ostagar for $3, normally $5.)

I just started the game (playing the pc version), I don't have any of the download content bc I bought the normal version, I would like to experience a huge chunk of the "full" game, can anyone recommend any DLC I should buy?? I know I need the Awakening, but thats a separate expansion right with a different character?

Thanks for the help guys!

I'm in a similar boat. I clocked in 115 hrs in the original campaign and I have none of the DLC. I'm tempted to get it all but are some skippable?

I am a fanboy of this game though so... hmm...

@Aquaryon I would be sure to get Warden's Keep and Stone Prisoner (the latter should come with the game for free if you buy it new). Also, Awakenings is a must, IMHO, and to answer your question, while you CAN be a different character in Awakenings, you don't have to be. I played my same character from DA:O in Awakenings and it was a much richer experience because of it!

I would skip the Darkspawn DLC (where you play as a Darkspawn in the final battle) unless you're just a major completionest. It doesn't add anything to the game; it's basically just some hack 'n slash.

And the feast day combo pack is just gifts and pranks for your companions. It makes winning over your companions' loyalty very easy as long as you avoid the pranks, which actually took the challenge out of it for me, which I didn't like. So not worth the $$$ for me.

I haven't played Leliana's Song yet, but I'm hopeful about it. And I'm definitely looking forward to the Witch Hunt! :-)

@Aquaryon Definately need Warden's Keep to get the storage chest. If you bought the game new, you should have gotten The Stone Prisoner for free. You don't need to play any of the others except Witch Hunt once you beat Origins/Awakening.

Return to Ostagar is short and you get a decent set of armor/weapons for a warrior and a good weapon set for a Rogue. Leiliana's Song does a good job of fleshing out Leiliana's backstory and you can get the best Leather Armor in Origins and one of the best in Awakening.

I'm not a big fan of Darkspawn Chronicles or the Golems of Amgarrak but those are there as well. Like Leiliana's Song and Witch Hunt, they take place outside of the core Origins game.

Holy hell. I didn't get any of the DLC because I had a hunch that no matter how many I'd gotten It'd get super expensive super quick.

Now I'm just rooting for a Game of the Year edition. And then I'd end up paying for the same game again, but once it goes bargain... should be cheaper than all those kazillion DLCs.

@SpiderKnives If you pay full MSRP for the Dragon Age DLC it would cost $36 for the Origins only stuff, then about $30 for Awakening. There's no word on what DLC will be included in the Ultimate Edition.

Really the only Origins DLC's you should worry about are The Stone Prisoner (free with new copies), Warden's Keep ($7 and has the much needed item-storage chest), Leiliana's Song ($7 and fleshes out Leiliana's backstory plus you can get the best leather armor in the game), and the Witch's Hunt. I would also get Awakening and complete that before playing Witch's Hunt.

You don't really need to buy any DLC. The one that adds Shale as a party member is very nice, but not necessary.
Really, just the "basic game" lasted me 70 hours.

Dragon Age creates a separate save folder in My Documents that typically isn't deleted along with the game. Check there, you may still have it.

Huh ... I guess I'm a little disappointed that the rest of Morrigan's story is going to play out in a short DLC adventure vs., say, another DA game down the line. It seems like there's a lot of potential to do something with her and the warden's kid in a bigger environment.

I bet she used Flemeth's Grimoire in conjunction with the old god's sould to make herself an imortal shapeshifter. Makes sense, really. To bad you'll most likely kill Morrigan/your doom-spawn in this DLC.
