Dungeon Defense will feature four-player cooperative action both online and off, 15 different arenas and multiple modes of play. It's also darned cute. Go to Big Download for a demo of the original game, and check out some screens below and a trailer after the break.
Dungeon Defenders headed to PSN, XBLA, PC this fall
19
Fans of dungeon crawlers and tower defense, take note: a new game combining the two is on its way to XBLA, PSN and PC this fall. Created by Trendy Entertainment, Dungeon Defenders mixes the hack-and-slash, loot-driven gameplay of dungeon crawlers with the strategic decisions of tower defense. Players are faced with an oncoming horde of monsters and must protect their Eternia Crystals by both building defensive measures and taking the fight directly to the enemy.
Dungeon Defense will feature four-player cooperative action both online and off, 15 different arenas and multiple modes of play. It's also darned cute. Go to Big Download for a demo of the original game, and check out some screens below and a trailer after the break.

I wish that and Kinect weren't coming out at the same time. I can't decide if I want one, the other, both, or neither. I'm not very good at waiting. But I might have to wait to see how this pans out.

Sorta reminds me of Gauntlet Dark Legacy, which is awesome. Fall is a busy time to release an arcade came though.

Isn't this game made with UDK and they're giving the SDK with the PC purchase of the game?

Nice presentation. Flash games + Brutal Legend are my only experience playing Tower Defence, and I hated those games. But this looks like fun, and has the dungeon crawling style combat integrated with the TD gameplay mechanics, so it might be really good.

It looks like a chaotic Korean MMO, and I'm not sure why. The color palette? The framerate? I have no idea why I'm reminded of that.

This is pretty reminiscent of the Dungeon Keeper series of games, which were awesome - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeon_Keeper
