A lot has been made of the fact that Portal 2 will be significantly longer than the original. Having watched the latest instructional trailers, we think we've discovered how. While both trailers illustrate puzzle solutions in under two minutes, we're guessing it would have taken our top Joystiq scientists several hours to come up with the same solution. Watch and be amazed.
@Kleptomaniac I was really impressed with the fluid dynamics in the second video. They must have seriously upgraded the source engine in order to do stuff like that.
@Freddie Mercury - Agreed. I've seen far more than I'd have liked already. This story was created to tempt me, but I cannot be tempt.... DAMNIT JUST ONE!
I really didn't like the first Portal and thought that it was just the novelty factor like Glados and Companion Cube but I must say, this one looks really fun and varied.
@TraceurRyuk Prepping for LBP2 Wow the guy got downvoted for expressing his opinion. This is why the new Engadget comment system is much better without the downranks. Traceur I do find it odd that you didn't like the first Portal but I gave you an upvote to save you from being greyed out forever!
@sonofman That's one of the stupidest things I've ever seen anything write. It's and opinion douche bag. Everyone is allowed to have their own. By definition it can't be wrong or right either.
@TraceurRyuk Prepping for LBP2 You, sir, confuse me. I get motion sick after a few minutes of Portal, but I still have to admit that it is a brilliant game. It just took me a really long time to finish it.
If the single player looks this fun and complicated, i can't imagine the Co-op. The Aerial faith plates, combined with the gels, turrets, cubes, and 2 portal guns... Gawd.... come faster
I know this is pedantic but it's not really DEFYING physics as everything is still obeying the laws of physics but the objects are being manipulated with fictional technology... Really the laws of physics still need to exist for a lot of these puzzles to work...
Portal 2 is the sequel to 2007's Game of the Year and draws from the award-winning formula of innovative gameplay, story, and music that earned the original over 70 industry accolades. Features single and multiplayer co-op modes.
