A lot has been made of the fact that Portal 2 will be significantly longer than the original. Having watched the latest instructional trailers, we think we've discovered how. While both trailers illustrate puzzle solutions in under two minutes, we're guessing it would have taken our top Joystiq scientists several hours to come up with the same solution. Watch and be amazed.
It's likely that these puzzles won't even be in the final game. The teasers trailer for the original Portal had some footage that was nowhere to be found in the real game.
The last puzzle with the Repulsion Gel looked so clever and complex. The part where he used the Repulsion Gel to bounce from wall to wall... that just blew my mind. The level design on this game is incredible and just think of how hard it would have been to create these levels. These awesome levels will help to make the game more fun and challenging, bending the rules of gameplay at the same time. I can't explain how good this looks, well done Valve!
They had a grammatical error in the trailer. "Aerial Faith Plates are part of a larger trust experiment designed to hepl the Enrichment Center discover whether the capacity for trust is effected by being catapulted into space."
It should have been "affected" instead of "effected". It was still funny nonetheless.
Portal 2 is the sequel to 2007's Game of the Year and draws from the award-winning formula of innovative gameplay, story, and music that earned the original over 70 industry accolades. Features single and multiplayer co-op modes.
