@Giggman seriously I wanted the original from the day it was released but never got around to buying it until it dropped to 40 bux at BB. I'm kinda upset that I waited so long to buy this game. There are some awesome mixes in there. I had considered developing a DJ rhythm game for the first Dream Build Play contest. (I was calling it Mix Master Party). It turned out to be a bit too ambitious for me, so I was happy that Activision took my idea and made an awesome game out of it ;)

The turntable vs. guitar mashups were icing on the cake.

It's ok that this list exists and everything, but does any of this information really matter until we find out which songs are being mashed with which?

@PedoJokerBear honestly, I HATE their music, but the tracks they "rap" on are usually solid (and that's why they make good club hits, you really don't hear the lyrics in a club, but the rhythm and melody are what make or break them). You go to the club, hear a banging track and download it on iTunes. Then you realize that the song is hideous but you can't stop nodding your head to the track.

I always felt that the crossfader could have been made better. Maybe add some rubber stoppers so I wouldn't hear so much clack....clack clack clack. Oh and maybe a pullback system that that realigns the crossfader back to the center.....I think im asking for too much!

Yeah, that's not the way a crossfader works. The main problem is having the center point be "clickier" so it's easier to stop when you hit center.

@(Unverified) the trick is when you go off center, you leave your finger there to serve as "home" Also, the game is pretty forgiving you don't have to be at exact center for it to register as center.

They did a VERY good job at recreating the mechanics of mixing. I think if they had made it any more authentic (two turntables), it wouldn't have appealed to any but the hardest of the hardcore. As it is, the game doesn't have the following of the guitar games. However, I would have liked an option to combine two turntables (the cross fader does have a connector on both sides) for a "pro mode". Then you'd have six samples and two turntables...that'd be pretty awesome.

I have completly sworn off music/rhtym games and fake plastic instruments that clutter my apartment. But after perusing the set list I am considering this.

Being from Detroit, I would like to see more true electro like Kraftwerk, Dopplereffekt, or Ectomorph, etc.

Also, I wish developers would get some electronic music from independant artists. Orbital, The Chemical Brothers, and The Crystal Method are all garbage.

So.. I just re-read the tracklist b4 I submitted this comment and will not be buying this. Soulja Boy, Flo-Rida, Sean Paul, Pitbull, PussyCat Dolls, Tiesto, The Prodigy, and a few others killed it for me.

@DrInternet

First of all: I am also into drum and bass music and am really quite pleased that it is not being represented here. I don't care if I ever hear little kids spinning Amit, Breakage, Klute, or Calibre on a plastic toy of a turntable. Secondly, while I understand your desire to have more "independent artists", it is silly to say that Chemical Brothers and Orbital are garbage. Maybe you should do a little history check. I'm talking only the early 90's or so, not too long ago, which makes it pretty obvious that you are a young guy. You cannot truly appreciate the things those two groups did for the electronic music scene. They both used to make some really good big beat/electronica music. Crystal Method, not so much. This is also true of the Prodigy and, you being someone who claims to be into drum and bass, you should also not diss on the Prodigy due to Liam Howlett's experiments in jungle music in the early days of the group. He did a lot for electronic music and made some great jungle as well. It is a shame that Prodigy makes shitty music these days, but so does Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers, this Deadmau5 dork, and pretty much everyone on this crap list.

Lady Gaga? Really?!

@Comet 20 A BIG part of the club/mixing scene is taking pop music (top 40 songs) and chopping it up with some underground stuff and making a new creation out of it. The original DJ Hero did a great job at this (think Marvin Gaye with Gorillaz).

Looking at the list doesn't tell you much, it's more about the mashups. Activision is having a contest on their Facebook page where they playing a medley of the mashups (like 5 seconds of each) and you have to match the songs with the mashups http://apps.facebook.com/djhero-namethatmix/ So far I'm liking what I hear. It's a pre-order for me.

@MDizzy

Your comments were well-put. And, I didn't know about the Activision contest. That's very interesting. At any rate, there is no way the majority of people will be able to match the track listings up. I mean look at the Lady Gaga track vs Deadmau5. I certainly wouldn't have picked those together, and look at the results. It's horrible. But that's not to say that the tracks won't be great; I'm sure they will, but it does show how much the top pop will dominate the mixes. At least it seems to be pretty foretelling.

Btw, if ppl get pre-orders for this game (with deck), then a cool Puma bag is included. I think it's cool, anyway.

@NuttyBalls

I thought they're were going to be 106 tracks. I count 105. Regardless, I like many of the song selections.

1) Cali Love remix - not a fan of the mix version as opposed to original
2) 50 In da club - dope
3) Adamski's killer (really old track that can be ok)
4) Afrika B Planet Rock - classic, classic hip-hop track (def dope)
5) Armand's I want your soul - older joint that is smooth fun
6) A-trak's Say Whoa - electronic version of Black Rob say whoa (nice house track, tho)
7) B.o.b. Nothing on u (ok track - wanted Airplanes instead)
8) Basement Jaxx where's your head at (reminds me of house-type Beastie Boys)
9) Blakroc dollaz and sense - one of the strongest tracks / great hip-hop track with RZA beats
10) Busta put your hands where my eyes can see - laidback, funky track that is exactly how Busta is when he's calm but still zany

11) Calvin Harris I'm not alone - cool, uplifting trancey track
12) Chamillionaire ridin - one of the most popular rap tracks back a bit ago (really like this song)
13) Chic Le Freak - very popular old school soul track (very DJ Heroish)
14) Chic Good Times - fun old school track (don't be surprised at the samples you hear in current rap music from this group)
15) Clinton Sparks Fav DJ - BARNBURNER! Very strong club track
16) Daft Punk Human after all - amazing electro track (love this pick)
17) Damian Welcome to Jamrock - nice reggae track. Damian is great! (I thought for sure the Nas collab song "As we enter" was going to be in it)
18) HERE WE GO WITH David Guetta showing why he is what he is with Love is Gone - one of my favorite tracks a few years ago and still is.
19) David Guetta again with Memories w/Kid Cudi - another superb track
20) David G vs Egg Love don't let me go - another older track but it's just ok to me. def the weakest of the 3.

21) Deadmau5 Ghosts 'N Stuff - one of the best trance songs ever! Frickin fantastic!!
22) Deadmau5 and Kaskade I remember - nice track but needs something else imo. vocals are great in it, tho.
23) Deee-lite Groove - so annoying and very DJ Heroish (I HATE this track) ... best part is the rapper. I may be wrong but he sounds like Q-tip but I'm sure it is him.
24) Dillinga and Skibadee Twist em out - hype D&B track. nice!
25) Dizzee Rascal and AVH Bonkers - title says it all ... strong track
26) DJ Qbert super battle breaks - going to be murder on the fingers
27) DJ Shadow Midnight - slow melodramatic track (how this is mixed will be interesting - right now I MUCH prefer Six Days (remixes only)
28) DJ Shawdow Enuff - Q-tip makes this for me. ok song but mix could be crazy
29) Donna Summer Bad Girls - HORRIBLE pick .... should have been "She works hard for the money" instead. I remember my mom playing that track and dancing around to it when I was young. Not Bad Girls :l
30) Edwin Starr War - good DJH pick but not my cup of tea

31) Em Not afraid - we all know this song by now. Cant wait for the mix
32) Estelle American Boy - GREAT track and perfect for DJH
33) Flo Rida Low - another popular rap track that is great for clubs
34) Flo Rida In the ayer - Flo Rida doing the thing again
35) Gorillaz Stylo - SUCKS. too slow. too boring. SHOULD HAVE been "On melancholy hill" japanese popstars remix -- An AMAZING track!
36) Grandmaster Flash The message - where hip-hop originated. A no-brainer track
37) Harold Faltermeyer Axel F - Had no clue on paper what this track was but heard it and instantly was propelled into Bev Hills Cop with Eddie Murphy .... aka Axel Foley (it all makes sense now - lol) This is going to be insane with a good mix!
38) House of Pain Jump Around - crazy hype party club track that is still played everywhere today. One of my all-time favs for sure
39) Iyaz Replay - good track. Should be fun
40) Janet Jackson Nasty - Back when JJ music was good and sassy.

41) Justice D.A.N.C.E. - I do NOT get the hype with this track. I think it sucks (commercial sounding) but I do like Justice
42) Justice Waters of Nazareth - crazy electro track! Will get parties hype
43) Kanye Heartless - Love 808 album ... strong track / mix will be nice
44) Kanye Love Lockdown - upbeat party song
45) Kaskade & Deadmau5 Move for me - AWESOME track! Can't wait to play this mix.
46) Kelis (Nas' former wife) Acapella - another good track. I prefer the dancey version of Kelis rather than the rapper girl. Good voice, too.
47) Kool and the Gang Jungle Boogie - meh ... very repetitive funk song that is typical of DJH1 pick. Not liking this song so far.
48) NOW WE GET TO LADY GAGA ... Lovegame - ok track. mix could be fun but I hear these songs 24-7 on the radio and it's annoying.
49) Lady Gaga Bad Romance - I'm sure we get the edited version. *rolls eyes* but I do like this song more than most of the other ones
50) Lady Gaga Just Dance - I HATE this song and I HATE the track mix with Deadmau5 even more! Terrible terrible mix. More Deadmau5, less Gaga

51) Lil' Jon Get Low - oh man, I grew to love this song from hearing it in the clubs all the time. Good track
52) Lil Wayne Go DJ - dope song ... beat is so nice
53) Lil Wayne Lollipop - my former roommates played the shit out of this song when it came out. I was so annoyed but I did end up loving it, secretly. I'm actually shocked this song is going to be on DJH.
54) LL Cool J I can't live w/o my radio - one of LL's best track. Hip-hop living legend
55) M.I.A. Galang - I had a feeling it was going to be this song but I honestly hoped for Teqkilla (doubt it would fly b/c of content tho) - Beats are INSANE!!!
56) M.A.R.R.S Pump up the Volume - oldie but goodie
57) Major Lazer Pon de Floor - dope track that has effects and a crazy D&B party vibe
58) Malcolm McLaren Buffalo Gals - Old school hip-hoppish track with no rapping. Mix can/should be fun but not the entire song being played.
59) AND NOW WE HAVE Metallica The Day that never comes - I really like Metallica .... in all their years and stages, but that Kazaa shit really angered me. Hence, I have not bothered with them anymore. But this song is awesome! It's my first listen to it. I don't know how any song left with the 104 track listing will work with it, unless it mixed with itself somehow or another rockish song. I'm very curious about this one in particular.
60) Missy Elliot Get your Freak On - queen of the party. great track

61) MSTRKRFT Bounce - Crzy Hyp Lctro trck thts Bngn!
62) Nas Hero - good track. not bad. not great.
63) Naughty By Nature O.P.P. - yeah you know me! Classic. Love it!
64) Nelly Hot in herre - Don't like the guy but this track is nice.
65) New Boyz You're a jerk - haha .... love this funky, snarky song. Very nice pick.
66) New Order Blue Monday - prefer the Orgy edgier version but at least ppl will know where the song came from .... back from other artists 15+ years ago like so many other songs.
67) Newcleus Jam On It - my FAVORITE track included in this game. Newcleus is going to be happy from all the downloads they will soon be getting from this song. I knew of the track from my breakin days but not the artist(s) name(s).
68) Nightcrawlers Push the feeling on - okay track I guess. really repetitive but still tolerable. Upbeat, too, so that's good.
69) Orbital The Box - Very electronic but a good track. Has a gritty feel.
70) Pirate SoundSystem bashy bashy - Not really sure of this track but Trip II London would have been awesome

71) Pitbull I know you want me - not fond of this song at all. Pitbull seems like he's a dude that think he's all that which makes me like him less
72) PussyCat Dolls Dont Ya - good, fun track. I'm glad it's not "When I grow Up"
73) Rihanna Pon de Replay - one of my fav tracks from her. Mix should be great!
74) Rihanna Rude boy - the girls will like this track but I don't dig it so much
75) Robin S Show Me Love (Stonebridge mix) - not liking this track ... sounds like DJH1 song and the original and other mixes are much better
76) Salt N Pepa Push it - another girl song. ok but I didn't like it much in the 80s and still don't
77) Sam Cooke Chain Gang - Oh wow. Song is way old school but it's nice. I'm curious how this one is going to be mixed as well.
78) Sam Sparrow Black and Gold - really like this track. Back to having songs I like .... I was worried for a moment.
79) Sean Paul Infiltrate - hmmmm.... not banging. not bad. it's still good but in an odd way.
80) Sean Paul Get Busy - One of Sean's most popular songs. I really like this track

81) Snoop Dogg What's My Name - classic song from one of the best rap albums available. I got this album at midnight release and loved it ever since I copped it. There could have been other tracks selected instead but, again, lyrical content perhaps was an issue.
82) Snow Informer - Another one of my jams. Very underrated for his time.
83) Soulja Boy Crank That - Dwight Howard would approve, but I can't stand the little twirp. Only good one-hit wonder song from him. Most ppl don't even know what the song means.
84) Sparfunk and D-Code Apocalypse - a fantastic D&B song I never heard of before b/c I stay away from that genre but might have to rethink that now. I like the added synths that are mixed in.
85) Stevie Wonder Superstition - Not liking this song and reminds me of some of the DJH1 garbage.
86) Talib Kweli Get By - Nice track good mssg but this guy is usually way too Afrocentric for me and gets annoying b/c of it. I tend to stay away from Talib and Mos Def for these reasons, but both artists are very talented.
87) Chemical Bros Leave Home - really like this track. Smooth electro vibe that is story-telling at the same time.
88) Chemical Bros Galvanize - Q-tip makes this song for me. Like the beat too.
89) Crystal Method Get Busy (still one of the best concerts I've ever been to) - All time classic techno track. Cannot go wrong with Get Busy
90) Jackson 5 ABC - I think we had ENOUGH OF ABC in DJH1!!!!!

91) Biggie Mase and Diddy Mo $ Mo Problems - Loved this song back in the day. Biggie was ruler of all hip-hop and this song came out shortly after his execution.
92) The Prodigy Omen - One of the best songs The Prodigy has come out with lately. This track is a beast! Can't wait to see how it's mixed.
93) The Prodigy Firestarter - I would have rather have had Smack My Bitch Up (so would most of us I'm certain) or even Breathe. Still a great track with hype energy.
94) AND UP FOR BID IS TIESTO with Speed Rail - dope hype energetic track that is not so mainstream. Tiesto is still the man, like it or not.
95) Tiesto & SSS I will be Here - cool track that is not really hype nor slow. I do like this song.
96) Tiesto vs Diplo Come On - Trance at it's best from one of the best trance djs in the world!
97) Tiga You gonna want me - cool dance track with a dope bassline
98) Timberland w/Drake Say Something - I hate the vocoder. Enough already. Drake's music is catchy but it's not real. And Drake is a copycat artist with Kanye vs Weezy. This song is dope tho, but when Timberland's been making nasty beats for years--what do you expect.
99) Timberland w/Keri Hilson The Way I Are - fun track with dope beat -- again.
100) Tweet Oh My - Love this track, too. Beat is nasty and should make for a good mix.

101) Walter Murphy A 5th of Beethhoven - has potential but time will tell. If you don't know Beethoven's 5th by now, something is dreadfully wrong with your music culture. This song is everywhere and rehashed/mixed in every way.
102) Warren G Regulator - Oh Shit. What a HUGE song in the 90s. Funky groovin. Regulators, Mount Up!
103) Wayne Smith Under Mi Sleng Teng - I've heard hip-hop songs use this song's sample but never knew where it came from. Cool, chill song with that reggae sound.
104) Yeah Yeah Yeahs Heads Will Roll a-trak mix - Never heard this track til recently, but I gotta say it's interesting. I can definitely groove to this track. I think will have a winner with this one.
105) Young Jeezy w/Kanye Put On - More generic rap songs that talk loud say nothing masked by a dope, slow beat and the untalented vocoder voiceover. Sucks but still will be fun to play.

So, in summary, we have more dance tracks. We have more electro/trance songs. But most importantly, the music has a newer and fresher vibe. Now we just have to see how the tracks mix together, which is not easy by any means. Let's see if DJH2 also gets best soundtrack in a video game. So far, it's looking like it.
