This seems to take place before Halo: Reach as Kat still has her arm. This is a different battle and the Spartan who takes the bomb into the carrier is the original Noble 6 who the player is replacing in Reach.

Go read First Strike and Ghosts of Onyx. There's a lot more story to be told after Reach.

I don't think it will be. There's a lot of other story left that hasn't been told in game. Like Ghosts of Onyx as example or possible DLC like what happened between Halo1 to Halo2. Plus what happened after Halo3 and what planet did Master Cheif land on?

There's a lot of games that can still be made on this franchise and this is Xbox's Mario so I highly doubt this'll be the last game...

I love Halo. I just wish it could be DLC. I just get the feeling they're milking it a bit. Spesh with ODST.
Don't blame them to be honest though. Money is good.

ODST should've been $40 max but, from what I'm seeing (and played in the beta) Reach is like a Halo 4. Combines everything that made Halo 1,2,3 and ODST great and combine them into a true sequel...

@PSBuckshot Seriously they should just end the series with Reach. Halo 3 and ODST were ok, and Wars sucked. Halo is still the best, but hopefully Reach will top it. I'm buying this game because Bungie is the developer, but the next one will be wait and see since knowing M(ilking)s they'll just kill the series.

the last Halo?? why would MS want to end their most successful exclusive ever. Better to say hope its the last Halo for a while, give the next Halo a long development time frame to get the cinematic, level design and environment as emotional invested as these live action trailers are.

I'd say they are waiting for their next console to make Halo 4 so they have at least one huge console selling title straight off the bat.

@PlatinumSkeet This isn't the last Halo. This is the last halo that Bungie will make. After Reach, they don't have the rights to the game anymore. They, of course, will be maintaining Reach and be playing an active part in the community for a long time, though. Microsoft has constructed a new studio, 343 Industries, that has some major people from the Halo community employed there. 343 will continue work on future Halo games.

@The angry pro consumer gaming ga I meant 3 games in 4 years. Say what you want about annualized series like COD, but they don't have half the crap bombarding us with their series like Halo does.

That's called Merchandising and if Bungie doesn't do it someone else will. Milking is making a Halo a typing game or something outside of what it was designed as.

Honestly the only thing Halo's done that I don't agree with has been Halo Wars..

I personally don't think the series will ever die and I don't think they are milking it in anyway. I say this because most fans don't want this to be the last game of the franchise if you actually like Halo you would want another game after this not right after but eventually. Now you think MS is milking Halo look to there competitors in Nintendo and the Mario franchise. No one says Nintendo should stop making Mario Games that would be the dumbest idea ever. I personally believe as long as there is a massive base for it and the games are still of a good quality then a Franchise shouldn't die.

No what he is showing you is how BIG Halo is people don't just buy the game they buy the merchandise to. Halo is the new big science fiction franchise it is this generations Star Wars.

@kives343 You're correct that if something is good it should continue. Starwars has been going for how long now? Then again Halo is no Starwars, I doubt Halo would continue if it had disasters like the 3 prequels. Spartans are cool, but will never be as cool as someone wielding a light saber and using force powers.
With that said I would like more Halo games, but with ODST and WARS the series wasn't helped at all.
As for Nintendo they don't promote Mario as the end all be all, they market and let quality and word of mouth spread. MS on the other hand talks about Halo being the greatest thing ever, and lets be real this is Bungies baby and they have a similar series called Marathon that can be brought out at any time.

Okay so you are saying that Halo will not sell if it had three disasters of a game? No it won't Halo has hit that point where they have enough dedicated fans that those ones will weather the storm. Also you you think Halo Wars and Halo ODST didn't help the series? Well it sure as heck didn't hurt it all of my friends are Halo fans(although some only buy the games others buy anything Halo) they all loved Halo Wars and ODST for what they were and we wouldn't mind a Halo Wars 2 it was a very well balanced and good RTS on a console. Halo is huge I mean every book that they make for it is a New York Times best seller. Sorry but Halo is now a giant brand.

That's merchandising. Name one movie/game that hasn't done that. From car companies, to sports franchises, to cereal merchandise, have t-shirts, mugs and all the other things your talking about.

That just proves that COD is not as awesome as Halo. By the way, that crap bombarding you is called merchandise. Only a few successful and series can pull it off.

Examples: Star Wars, Superman, Batman... Should I go on?

To me, it was good, but it lacked the emotional depth and pacing of the Halo 3 Memorial ads, and the frenetic action of the ODST ads.

I really wish they made more ODST ads.
