Video: What if Call of Duty was a Pokemon game?
35
The problem with Pokemon is that it's pretty embarrassing to tell people you play it, especially if you're over the age of 13 -- just ask Griffin. They're great games, don't get us wrong. It's just that we're adults, with actual utility bills and Netflix memberships, and alive and breathing significant others. We can't risk losing all of that.
That's why we want to draw your attention to this Call of Duty and Pokemon mash-up clip, available just past the break. By incorporating the two, we can maintain our adult facade, while enjoying the deep and robust RPG experience Nintendo's line of games offers without all the kiddie stuff. It's the best of both worlds!

Idk, maybe to foster a community. It was always fun to trade pokemon that you couldn't get in your version to another dude with a different version. Also there are those Poke fanatics that buy both versions (no friends to trade with?) so I guess they get more money off of those dudes. This is just conjecture so don't take my word for it. I was just bored and wanted to write my thoughts down. :)

The obvious answer is that some people will buy both copies of the game(all 3 if you count the special version that comes out later), but I think it is also a tactic to cause conversations about the game and get it more well known e.g. "Which one are you getting?".

Originally it was to encourage use of the link cable for training. Now that we've got online trading, it's not so necessary. But it's already become the standard procedure for Pokemon games and theres no reason to change what works.
At least they seem to be expanding the differences between the versions almost every generation.

You could also get this exact experience by playing Shin Megami Tensei. Just saying.

@canada It's making fun of a specific person in the CoD YouTube community. He faked a 30 second nuke earlier this year and he's basically a d-bag.
