Civilization 4: The Complete Edition is on sale through Games for Windows Live for $10. That's 75 percent off the regular price. The sale began today and will stand the test of time ... until September 1, 2010, when a sneak attack will wipe out the deal -- or so The Oracle foretells.
The Civ 4 complete edition includes all the expansion packs for the epic critically acclaimed strategy game, including Colonization, which is more of a spin-off. It's certainly an amazing deal, but just remember that Civilization 5 will be out September 21. We doubt that one will cost $10.

@IanW: Civilization is probably one of the best series on the PC. Civ 5 comes out in a month but for $10 this is well worth it as an intro to the series. 4 is to date the easiest one for new people to pick up.

This time last year I got Rome Total War. Maybe it's now appropriate I finally get Civ IV (previous laptop couldn't run Rome: Total War even so I never gamed on PC until last year - leave me alone!) as I've heard good things. I don't have time for this much gaming though now! Hmm...

At this point, I'm conflicted as to whether I should advise people to get this or just wait for the new one. I guess $10 isn't a huge expense by any stretch of the imagination, especially when it's for one of the greatest PC games ever (and every expansion). Not to mention that there's tons of great mods available for IV (Fall From Heaven 2, for instance), which won't be the case for V for a while. DO IT.

@Rollins - It's worth it. It might ruin their lives for a few weeks, but it is definitely worth more than ten dollars. If nothing else, it can get people acquainted with the game before V.

Totally worth the 10 bucks, especially if you've wanted to try it and never have. Im hesitant to get it since V is so close as well.
If Steam Matches this deal Ill get it, I cant stand having all these different services on my comp.
Games for Windows Live for fallout
Steam for TF2 and L4D
Sony Launcher
EA Download manager
Hate it. Just let me log in, and download the game. Id rather you put actual commercials in my game between load screens, than make me keep your marketing reminders as bloat-ware on my comp.

Just as a point of information, it's for Games for Windows, not Games for Windows Live -- the difference being there's no "Live", no achievements, no friends list, no gamertag, etc.
Probably doesn't make a difference to anybody but achievement hunters, but just thought I'd throw that out there. Still a pretty good deal...

Nah, just proofread. I imagine you doublecheck a resume or a cover letter, no?

10 bucks! That's cheaper than the Diablo 2 battle chest
