Regardless of whether or not you're looking forward to Final Fantasy XIV, you really owe it to yourself to watch the new trailer posted after the jump. Not because it reveals the game's theme song ("Answers," as performed by pretty-voiced vocalist Susan Calloway), and not because it contains a few relatively rad cutscenes from the game, but because it features some of the most mind-blowingly insane writing to ever come out of the franchise. And that's saying something.
"These tears," the trailer posits. "Mankind's fated burden? A gods-decreed sacrifice?" Whoa, there, trailer! "Radiant glory? Or heinous oblivion?" We don't know how to answer that, trailer. The second one, we guess? We're not entirely sure what you're asking.
That cat chick was kinda hot... anyway it is looking good. The screens where they are just walking around look immersive and the combat looks more fast paced. Can't wait!
That screen cap up top made it look like she was trying to give him a shiner. Regarding the video, it was a tad bit boring until the skies erupted with hell spawn fury. I think I might pick this game up, needed a good MMO.
Now, you can nerdrage all you want about having your illusory freedoms taken away, or you can realize that there's no hard limit, and the soft cap is easily avoidable.
Can anybody post the pronunciations of the races and countries? I can't make left or right out of them. Square Enix went way overboard on making "a new world".
Conjurer I believe is what you're looking for. It bolsters both White and Black magic, but don't confuse it to what we know as a Red Mage. It harnesses both White and Black natively, so it's more like a WHM+BLM combo hybrid, rather than a jack-of-all-mage RDM.
and... there will be spoken dialogue in the game. Chances are you'll hear the pronunciations loud and clear :)
