It's the calm before the autumnal storm, and we're marking the peace with some new releases like Mafia 2 and Shank. And, of course, Chris is playing a game from 1974, but you can just skip over that part.
Big thanks to Jesse Walsh for his couch co-op photoshop.

Wasn't it last week that I talked about Sin & Punishment: Star Successor? And we only got one review copy of Other M (which JC reviewed). It's not available in stores yet.

@Ludwig Kietzmann you did talk about Sin & Punishment (and I was glad you did) and I didn't realize you only got the one copy. Just seems that someone else is always reviewing the Wii games so the discussion is relegated to the hope that one or more of you play them as well, and that doesnt always seem to be the case. I realize its difficult to make that happen and just hope that they are not being actively ignored.

@Ludwig Kietzmann good to hear, man, good to hear. I also have a 360 so its not like i want 2 hours of Nintendo talk but I dont think the console should always get short shrift because there are some inventive, unique experiences on the console. Keep up the good work, then.

Okay, I keep hearing people complaining about the checkpoints in Mafia 2, and how their really far apart... How many times are you guys dying before you get frustrated??? I know for me, I'm playing on hard and I've died about 5-6 times, and haven't gotten frustrated yet. The most frustrating mission I've done was *SPOILERS* when the drug dreal with the chinese going wrong*. I think I died like 3 times there but even then I wasn't getting frustred. I was seeing where I died and leaned what not to do.
Just my 2 cents, maybe on pc it's easier, but even on hard I'm not dying enough to start getting frustrated yet.

Oh, and I totally agree with Ludwig about Shank. I played the demo and it didn't do anything for me. Graphics were nice, but the gameplay was way too simple for me.

To that guy looking for good Science Fiction stuff you should watch the Firefly series. It starts off a bit weird but grows on you so fast. Once you're done with the show, watch the movie Serenity.

Just this morning when I was walking to school I was thinking back on Heavy Rain and how some parts were quite good and some were not so good. Weird!

I don't have Goozex so take this with a grain of salt Chris, but if everyone used Goozex theoretically only one copy of every game would get sold because everyone would wait for it to be traded to them on Goozex. Obviously that would never happen, but you see what I mean.
If you want to support publishers and devs I would say Goozex is also technically not "voting with your dollars" as Justin commented re: Gamestop. Saying you're supporting consumers instead of Gamestop assumes those consumers are buying new games with that money. Clearly they're not spending ALL of it on new games or they wouldn't be on Goozex. Technically every time a player plays a game without buying a new copy is a time the dev/publisher is not being fully supported for their work.
I agree 100% Goozex sounds better than buying from Gamestop used, but if you wanted to be hardcore about it, don't trade games, don't pirate games, don't even rent games. Buy only new games.
Obviously the economics of games is such that services like renting games, trading games, and buying/selling used games exists so the devs/pubs are never going to sell as many new copies as people who play their games.
Sorry for the essay, in essence I agree with you guys (Gamestop used game sales are evil). Interesting topic though!

I was also a little confused on that point. Gamestop is bad, but Goozex is good? As far as the game companies are concerned, used is used. I'm sure they'd love to sell us every game brand new at $60 and could give a shit if we enjoyed it. I don't feel like I need to spend all of my hard earned money so Kotick and the like can sleep on a bed of money. Saying that used game buyers aren't really customers is being narrow minded. We still experience your product, we still support it with worthwhile dlc purchases, we still tell our friends and family about it and help to expand the franchise. Drawing a line in the sand and calling us thieves is not going to help your new game sales. And charging for online play (for used games) is the wrong way to go about it. They want more money for little to no extra work or effort. I'd like to stress once more how well Bethesda did things with Mass Effect 2.

I feel like you guys are too hard on gamestop most of the time, business practices aside, some of the stuff you guys talk about is just insulting. I go to my gamestop mostly because the only other option in town is walmart or waiting from amazon. When I go in there, it doesnt smell like pee, the floor is clean, the games are sealed and the employees are always very friendly. I was in there just yesterday and bought a Halo Reach figure only to realize id grabbed the wrong one and the one i wanted was actually out. I told the desk clerk and he told me he had bought it himself and went to the back and gave it to me. Anecdotal evidence maybe, but i think they're as fine as any other retailer

I was at Fan Expo in Toronto this weekend, there were both booths there, and anyone was able to try the Kinect and the Move. From what I saw was that the games for Move(wii sports clone) worked alot better then anything I saw on the Kinect.
I agree with Ludwig it doesn't feel let alone look like 1 to 1, I was watching a random person play some racing game and it didn't look fun, I even remember some people watching and laughing at how stupid some people looked playing Kinect. Compared to the Move and Wii, I don't find it worth getting.
