God of War: Ghost of Sparta special edition PSP revealed

PlayStation Blog released a few images of the special edition PSP, seen above, included in the God of War: Ghost of Sparta bundle. It just ... looks angry, doesn't it? Like, we rarely imbue inanimate objects with human emotions, but that thing looks like it wants to cut us while we sleep.

I understand what you're talking about, i mean, yeah, the colors seem to be made for each other but somehow looks cheap on the picture, i'm not sure if this is a PSP to be loved or hated, sometimes this kind of things you do gotta see it in person. I hope this to be one HELL of a PSP

Lawl. Well, it is a matter of taste, but to people like myself here, that's a dandy colour-scheme. I've always been put off by the others, but this is good stuff.

@Joseph9307 I'm wondering the same thing. The PSP-3000 has lots of flaws, the biggest of which is the screen. The scanlines on mine are, at times, horrendous.

The interlacing really is awful. The "better" screen was supposed to be the selling point of the 3000, but it wound up being its worst feature.

I have a 3000, and while the form factor is a significant improvement over the original day-one PSP I had before, the screen is several steps back.

@greyseal Wait, wait, wait, I just bought a new PSP-3000 on eBay for $150. I plan on getting FFVII, VIII, and IX for it. Was this a bad idea??

I have never noticed any screen issues with mine, and I play it quite regularly. I think this whole interlacing thing is overblown and comes mostly from people looking for something to complain about.

@greyseal The 3000 does have a better screen, I sold my 2000 for the improved screen and am pleased with my decision. The lines can be noticeable during a movie or whatever, but I've never noticed it during gameplay and the improved response time (no smearing reds!) and color range are well worth that trade off. It's not perfect but as far as I'm concerned it's a step up overall.

THats a nice looking one, wish the analog nub was red too.. lol.

THis and the Big Boss PSP version are pretty awesome. I might just buy a new one cause of this just for the PSP look.

I still don't get why they made the PSPGO if they aren't going to even market it like this.

Complaining about Sony marketing mistakes is like complaining about rain in London - it's gonna happen, just sit back and get used to it.

I fully admit to liking my PSPgo, though. I paid $50 too much for it, but the feature set and portability have made it one of my most used pieces of tech (and playing Ys Seven with a DualShock just feels good).

@APV because it looks really bland and ugly? seriously, it's red and it has a krato's weapon in vectorized form. that's not sophisticated, that's average.

That looks truly awful compared to the matte black and scarlet picture from the PS Blog. If that's actually it, I definitely no longer want one.

They never did block region gaming with the new models, did they? I still have the first model, but disc reading is busted.

Woah..! That's not a bad deal! It comes with Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta! Not to mention the 2GB Memory Stick! I bet that PSP must look way better in person too!

Tell me about it. Usually the bundles comes with a PSP, a game, a movie and a memory stick. But this has 2 games and not just any games, they're GOW games.

I already have the 3000 model and Chains of Olympus, but the system black and red look so freaking awesome. I don't know what to do. :(

That's a pretty slick looking PSP bundle… I probably would have bought that, but I'm more than happy with the Gran Turismo bundle I got new from Kmart for $130.

Well, this ALMOST makes me want to get a 3000 model. But for that much money I'll hold off and keep my 2000 and PSPgo until PSP2 comes... whenever that is.

Ironically another special PSP bundle that ignores the PSPgo. I think Sony is going to really phase it out, but doesn't want to make it public yet.

I have the GoW: Chains of Olympus model PSP-2000 that I bought in 2008 and I love it. If it were replacement time, I'd probably snatch this bundle in a heartbeat. As it is, Ghosts of Sparta is a day-one purchase for me. If it's half as good as Chains of Olympus, it will be awesome.

They have SO many special edition PSPs.

Except for the one I really want. Which is a Robocop PSP.

I like it. Is it really worth getting a PSP now though? I guess there are a dozen or so games that are worth picking up for the PSP, so maybe it's good I waited this long. As a fan of God of War, can't go wrong with this. Though maybe they should have included the new God of War comics as a free digital download.

Seen it before, but more images from more angles and extras than just side-shot and front-on, not to mention in a higher res, is much welcome for making me feel good aboot that pre-order I haz.
