This is indeed a wonderful problem to have. I'm slowly working my way through Dragon Quest IX right now; it's so grindy though that I may have to drop it for Final Fantasy in October and hopefully Golden Sun will roll out when I'm done with that.

I'm kind of disappointed by this news. I love me some Golden Sun, but the game looks to have a lot of problems with it from what we have seen. A lot of jank. And a few more months may remedy that.

Then again, we probably have been seeing outdated builds.

We shall see. We shall see.

@Alexisonfire

What kind of problems?

After watching some of the E3 2010 game play videos, the game was looking pretty good and similar to the original games.

@Za23 It does look good, but I probably would've preferred sprites to the rather bad 3D graphics they showed us.

Yeaaaaah, we've been on a cliffhanger for quite a while at the end of Golden Sun 2. Really never thought it would take this long...should replay 2 so I can remember what the cliffhanger was...

@acefondu I dunno, it really seems like the ending of The Lost Age was really conclusive, not leaving much room open for a sequel.

Well, Alex was still alive at the end of The Lost Age.

@Roto13 WHILE WE'RE ON SPOILERS OMG DON'T LOOK

Not to mention the whole point of the game was to keep the lighthouses from being lit, until that last one would've meant a lot of death.

I've also speculated that the 'edge of the world' just meant it was a floating island in the sky with a larger, vaster world below it.

Also - aside from Alex surviving - what was Garet freaking about his arms for after the beacon was lit at the end? I never understood that.

@Jinketsu

The point is that hte final lighthouse was not lit properly, but lit by the wise one, he even says at the end of hte game that a bit of the power is still in the mars star that issac holds (which is why alex can't even summon a simple storm)

My DS broke a few weeks back, I'm tempted to buy a new one so I can play this game. But with the 3DS around the corner, I don't know what to do. I've been waiting forever for this game.

Money isn't a problem, I would just feel silly buying a product that's on it's death bed...

@DeeZeee

eBay / Craigslist / Kijiji?

Where I live, I see plenty of DS's (phats and lites) on Kijiji in the $50-ish range. That's probably what I would do in your situation. :)

If I were you, I'd wait. 3DS will (supposedly) be out within the first quarter of next year, and this game being a Nintendo release, it most likely won't become difficult to find any time soon.

Is it just me or does that Earth djinni look kind of strange...
Definitely isn't the same design as the ones from the first two games. Maybe each djinni within each element class has a slightly different appearance?

It does look ugly, but it's nice to see them break away from the short-blocky look that most DS RPGs go for.

Good attempt on their part.

I was so looking forward to this, now I don't even really care. I wish the game would have stayed 2d, instead it looks like that barely passable isometric 3-d that the DS can do. I'm sure this change in itself births its' own set of problem gameplay wise.

They should have stayed 2d, provided a colourful and intricate gameworld and implemented SNES style control scheme.

That would have pwned.

*goes back to Chrono Trigger DS*

I need to whip out my Game Cube + Game-boy Player combo to play this first two again. Thankfully It's not going to be like Kingdom Hearts where I absolutely feel like playing through each one just to figure out the subtle references in-between the sub chapters of each in-between game until KH3 comes out.

I really Am worried about the possibly dumb, and forced, touch screen Psi abilities. I really think as long as they weren't "tacked" on, and well thought out, I can be more excited.

The other thought I had was are they going to short change us again and leave the game on a cliff hanger? Because there is no way they have pushed the DS straight to it's limit, so that a full scale epic game HAS to be split into two parts. At least it's not coming to the DSi ware in episodes that would really have pissed me off. I'm glad I have only minor things to worry about. :P

YES! It's about time! There's only a few DS games left that I'm honestly excited for which is this game, 4 Heroes of Light, and a few others.

Not one of my favorite RPG franchises, for certain, but I'll keep my fingers crossed. Face it, the puzzles were all too easy, scratch that, EVERYTHING was too easy in both games.

That can all be fixed real easy!

I'll say seven years isn't long, not in RPG time. Us Chrono fans have been waiting over a decade for a proper sequel.

They have failed to answer a very important question from fans of the series: Do we get to import character data, items, etc. into Dark Dawn from Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age? If so, I have to dig out my carts and get some serious gaming on.

Just don't make it a 5+ page password again. Please.

I have been waiting for this game for far too long. When Lost Age concluded, I can't begin to express how sad I was that there was no news on there ever being another one. While I've known of DD for some time now, watching the trailers still makes me so happy. I can't wait to see what they've done with djinn!
