Coming to Japan later this year is Malicious, a PSN exclusive that's composed entirely of boss battles! It's as if developer Alvion looked at the usual "platforming" and "puzzle solving" nonsense and just cut it. Considering this debut trailer, we don't think the studio made the wrong decision.

This looks like it could be amazing. Hopefully Sony doesn't take their sweet time as they usually do with bringing Japanese PSN games to the rest of the world.

Yeah, we like our 3D beat-em-ups out here in the West, too! Looks like a Fall 2010 release for Japan...hopefully a US version by early 2011? Pretty please, Sony?

Is it just me or did it look like a game combination of kingdom hearts, Final Fantasy, pokemon, and harry potter all combined?

Looks kinda like Zone of Enders meets Kingdom Hearts.

What?
This game consists entirely of bosses?
Sounds like there won't be a boss rush mode this game.

They've been doing that will all their videos lately, it usually is just a link to the "rest" of the article, where the video actually is. Seems silly to do that on a "mini article", though, we don't even get to see the watermarked image...

reminds me of that one game you guys were showing the 3-4 part trailer for a few months back where you were the guy that looked really girly (jrpg inspired definitely) and you were fighting weird monsters. i SREIOUSLY cant remember the name of it. seemed like it had to do with God and Angels or something...idk..anyways the art style of this game reminds me of that game :p

The game is called El Shaddai, and I'm looking forward to it.
And it's NOT girly...

so all those little enemies were bosses?

@Uncontrol
I was going to mention that as well. I'm sure they're just fodder for the bosses which makes this less of a unique boss-battles-only concept (Though not original since Shadow of the Colossus turned that concept into awesome-ness.) and more of a button-bashing beat-'em-up. Right?
Still looks like something fun as long as the nice graphics aren't coupled with a $15-$20 price-tag. It looks good but I'd only consider this at a $9.99 price-point. Puzzles and exploration can be called boring but they're also unique gaming elements and with Japanese games they allow the opportunity to show off pretty things. This looks too simple with a fairly similar area shown for the whole trailer.

I love the art direction, too many games look alike, so games that form a new mold in the visual department are eagerly wanted.

Looks cool but without a retail release it's either going to have to be really really good or have an attractive price point.
