Latest Brink dev diary has a few exaggerated features
23
The latest dev diary for Brink focuses on the game's innovative art design, largely conceived by designer Olivier Leonardi, who has a total artist name. What's so innovative about it? Two things, mostly: there's lots and lots of color, and also, everyone's arms are super long.

This game is easily topping my list of potential games for 2011. Looks to be all that APB could have been if they had just focused and streamlined it a bit more while giving it a console release, instead of what APB turned out to be.

WOW. I'm truly getting pumped for this. Great art direction they went in.

I think this is my most wanted game right now. I love class based shooters, mix that with actual progression, serious (8-PLAYER drop in/out) co-op, bad ass graphics and PARKOUR?
I really don't see how, if they deliver upon their promises, this will not be a serious contender for GOTY 11.

This game is looking better and better the more I see and read about it. I'm most excited about the new S.M.A.R.T. movement. My biggest complaint about FPS games was always the way the movement or lack of movement around the terrain. Most levels looked awesome but you couldn't actually interact with it. This game lets me climb over slide under and hide behind just about every thing you see in the level. Should make for some really fun cat and mouse gun fights. I kinda wish you could see your leg's like in Mirrors Edge but this is a huge step in the right direction as far as the type of game play I want to see more of in FPS games. Now give me the option to use MOVE support and really up the anti!

You are so right. The S.M.A.R.T system is gonna be D.O.P.E!

It's so great to see games that aren't afraid of color and stylization. After all the brown-on-brown we've seen in so many shooters, something like this is a breath of fresh air, just as Borderlands was. I've heard it plays really well, too. I'm very interested to see how it turns out.

It does. Feels somewhere between Call of Duty and Bad Company, but with a SMART button, which flows awesomely.

To stay on topic I really like the art style with the exaggerated features, I think it will make it easier to quickly see the difference between friend and foe in a fast paced fire fight. I'm loving all the color in the levels as well as the different landscapes and variable terrain. I have to say this is one of the only FPS games I'm really looking forward to for 2011.

@pluupy: Tell me how this game is just "Run around and Kill stuff" plz? I've been keeping up with all the news and dev diaries and to me (and many others, i'm sure) it seems like the complete opposite.
I haven't been this excited for a game since the first time i saw the destruction in Bad Company, when it was first announced at e3.

It let's you blend single-player and multi-player. S.M.A.R.T is pretty innovative. The in-depth customization system looks amazing.
A little bit of the old mixed with the new isn't all that bad.

LOL - "I want to see a game that isn't like the last fifteen that came out the same year. " Beyond the simple fact that it is an FPS, you're most definitely looking at a game that is not like the last fifteen that came out the same year. You may, however, be looking at a game that IS like the next 15 that came out because they will end up influencing the genre with some of their innovations with the tech.

Im so excited for this game. Honestly looks like this game will control my life.
The amount of detail, innovation, and sheer courage to back off the stale game play that sums up most games of late. Of course there are the games coming out and that have come out but they are almost few and far between. After youve trudged through the bullshit on ALL three current gen systems, this looks like its going to be in my top 10 games of this generation.
The character customization is mind numbing, the stats system is awesome, and finally, the ORIGINALITY is the most noticeable aspect of this game, period. Granted the whole good vs evil thing has been done before. The fight against oppression blah, blah, blah. But these dev diaries show how much heart and effort is being put into this game. The truly believe in their product, and it shows quite clearly. Im excited for the single player, which seems good as well, provided it is atleast 9 hours or more(PLEASE). The multiplayer will be great, especially if you ve got a good group of guys to play their respective rolls appropriately. And, I've already said it, but the character customization, just seems so rich, and rewarding. Your character will have personality. Not to mention, the weapon customization looks like a vast improvement over the COD style system(which is good, but come on, it had more potential).
Day one.

@Justhellboy It doesn't have vehicles. So it can't be mixed with bad company.
