Aww, poor PSP -- it's like you've been sitting out in the rain, looking through the window at all of the other consoles, laughing and having a good time together with Puzzle Quest 2. Well, come on in, buddy! You've finally been invited to the party.
IGN reports that Sony's handheld will indeed receive a port of Puzzle Quest 2, launching "towards the end of 2010." Oddly enough, the IGN piece mentions the game will be available for download via PSN and makes no mention of a UMD release. We've gone ahead and contacted the game's publisher, D3, for clarification.
Along with extreme tardiness, the PSP port brings with it a new game mode called Elite. Here, the difficulty of enemies has been ramped up, naturally yielding better rewards for players and more chances to throw your PSP to the ground in frustration.

It's a puzzle game, with a quest in mind! You get the best of both worlds!

I was waiting for this version. XBLA is nice to have to play online, but Puzzle Quest just feels so much better on a PC or handheld for me.
Hopefully this time the PSP version doesn't have a lot of bugs.

PQ1 is awesome. PQ: Galactrix was mediocre, and so is this. My guess: these guys got lucky …

I really want the PSP to succeed, I spent 200 damn dollars on mine recently, and found out there's nearly no games for the damn thing.
And mine is a 3001 model, so I can't even use it for homebrew.

I have had my PSP for 3 years and this is by far the best year for games yet. To name a few:
Person 3 Portable, Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, Lunar, Valkeria, Chronicals 2, and Y's Seven
Still to come:
Kingdom Hearts, Knights in the nightmare, God of War and now Puzzle Quest 2.
I love my PSP. Don't Pirate.

This is definitely the version I've been waiting for. I bought the first one on UMD and PSN.
Even in an interview about the first one the developers stated that the PSP version was their favorite. I'm buying this one on day 1.
