Batman: Arkham City screens are an inexplicable treat

Before we get you all hot under the collar, a preface: We have no idea where these screenshots for Batman: Arkham City originated. They seem to be posted on an anonymous Flickr set, which then made its way onto NeoGAF. Normally, we wouldn't run images of enigmatic origins, though we've decided to make an exception this time for two reasons:

These images look pretty legitimate.
These images are as hot as the core of the Sun which sustains our planet.

Get your first look at Two-Face, Catwoman and the new (and arguably improved) Harley Quinn in the gallery below while we try to confirm their authenticity. An intentional "leak" from WBIE's marketing department wouldn't surprise us.

I... don't think they are from the game. The faces are just so different from what we saw in the first game.

@eimajtl What do you mean? Batman looks identical and the only reason Harley looks different is because she is not dressed as a nurse. Other than that Two Face and Catwoman weren't in the last game so you can't really judge their appearance.

These images line up pretty much exactly with the plot points and character descriptions listed in the hands-on preview from the most recent issue of Game Informer. I'm 99.9% certain that these are the real deal.

the goons even have the same style/look to them as in Arkham Asylum.

To me, Batman's face just looks weird. I know we haven't seen Catwoman or Two-Face before, but they style isn't quite the same. Catwoman's face looks squished a bit.

I'm hoping that detective mode isn't final.

I'd heard, very recently, that they were going for more of an "augmented reality" look with detective mode, this time. That conjured images of... less x-ray and blue tint in my mind.

These screens don't support that, but I can still hope.

Regardless, the game looks f-in' awesome.

They've been hinting at co-op in this one for a while.

The shots of Catwoman make me think she'll be an option, but I still feel it will be neat if some iteration of Dick Grayson is offered for the 2nd player.

Anyone else think that they will add coop with the second player playing as Catwoman?

Exactly what I thought about the pic of her and Two-Face.

@Pocky4Th3Win Never thought of it but that could work really well. I can imagine them being unique since the joker was very well designed in terms of moves and gadgets in Arkham Asylum even though you could only play as him on a few challenge maps.

Italian gibbering hooded Harley Twins with a heavy NYC accent.
They always have to travel by rooftop even when its not appropriate. They, also would have a weakness for jesters and instantly do profane things to them even in public areas. Also, naturally, they would kill all in sight including next of kin and leave the words "Love Me" carved in each of their victims.

Abilities would be orbital jester strikes, Projectile exploding whoopie cushions, and knives located in "surprising" locations.

Harley just really isn't Harley without a domino mask.

I like that cat woman doesn't have exaggerated giant boobs. You don't need giant boobs for cleavage. Harley Quinn looks like she has implants, which I guess makes for sense for her character. Boobs.

Oh god, this game looks so good. It also looks like Joker's hired more then 2 goons this time around.
