Apple's Keynote just brought news that Game Center is (finally!) coming to iPhones in iOS 4.1. It bears the new, greener look we saw back in July and, as Steve Jobs noted, has a heavy focus on multiplayer. Beyond playing games with friends, there are matchmaking and leaderboards across multiple games; it's more or less Steam for your phone.
Jobs says iOS 4.1 - and thusly, Game Center -- will be arriving "next week," though it won't be arriving on iPad until iOS 4.2 in November. We'll be getting our Canabalt scores as high as possible before next week.

Don't forget the line where he said the iPod Touch was outselling Nintendo and Sony combined, thus making making it the number 1 portable gaming system.

disregarding how your comment has nothing to do with Game Center, it might be statistics based on the past quarter. sure, it doesn't make sense to compare those numbers since the psp and ds have been around earlier than the iPod Touch, but it's still an impressive stat.

i just got the iphone4 last month and the reasoning behind it was, i had a itouch for 2 years and the phone just feels so damn familiar. Its an amazing phone. The videos are great. You really dont need Imovie, its nice to have but its a very watered down version of imovie on the Mac. The speed is fantastic, the retina display, you actually notice a difference from old iphones and itouchs I would recommend this anyday. And now with the free bumper, there's no reason not to buy it. I even switched over to AT&T for it and im not looking back. AT&T gets a horrible name for its self, but its just as shitty as any other phone company. Ive noticed nothing different from my old verzion phone to my iphone.
