Maps and menus in practically everything are mapped to "select" and "start," respectively.

They're rarely things you need to hit in a panic, but they're certainly buttons you'd use often.

Exactly. I won't lay down the cash until there is a game that really wows me. And i think a lot of other consumers feel that same way.

Great review... I had the Move bundle on pre-order but I canceled it not too long ago. I think I may end up pre-ordering it again after reading this review along with Sports Champions.

I agree, this was a fair review. He wasn't straining at all... just giving the info and his reasonable take.

I think this quality of review is not common enough. I'm not going to be buying a Move until there's a great game out that makes great use of it. And that may be never, but bet it's Socom 4.

I agree as well as far as the review goes. As for myself, I'm the type of person that needs to have things on the first day and so I'd hold off a bit longer if I could like you... but I just don't think I'd be able to do it. I'd fold in sooner or later, haha.

So the Move bundle for $99.99 included the Main controller (the one with the ball) and the PlayStation Eye? Or is the NavCon (the pickle as they call it, the one with the analog stick) included in the Move bundle?

Seems to me it should be all, because the main controller is $50, and the navigation controller is $30... is the $20 (to make the $100 price tag) due to the software bundled in? Or is that the price of the EyeToy?

I'm just curious because I would not want to pay $130 unless the games that require it are out, or old games are patched to support it (First Person Shooters).

Just to add to my previous comment. I'm looking at the 3rd paragraph. The last part "There's also the Move's navigation controller", this part I did not understand if it means the navigation controller was built in the bundle or not. Maybe it's because it's 3:45AM. Sorry if it's obvious.

No Navcon with bundle. You can use your Sixaxis in place of a Navcon.

I had no problem with High Velocity Bowling, and have imagined holding two Sixaxis controllers at the center and boxing with them. I think it'll be alright this way.

But indeed, this stuff costs a lot for what you get. If the games are great, Sony will make a ton of money.

I fear for the future of gaming, in that I believe the big three will all become focused too much on the motion control sector. My greatest fear is that Microsoft and Sony will both become much too focused on these for the gamers who like the core contoller experience.

I feel the same way. I don't want the way gaming is to change. I think it's great that Microsoft & Sony have marked their names into the book of motion controls but as long as the average gaming controller can coexist with Kinect or Move, then nothing can go wrong.

@Schlecht These controllers will never replace actual controls for most core games. Street fighter just wouldnt work, Racing games wouldnt work, FPS might work but you'd feel like an idiot. No, there'll be as much support for this as there would be any other peripheral controller like a light gun or steering wheel. Those have been around for years and so will the standard controller. if anything the only thing that might change is additional features to add to the regular controller experience.

Luckily, one of the major points of the Move is that it can be used as an alternative to the Dualshock. Many of the best games that are getting Move support have it as an option instead of a necessity (RE5, Socom4, KZ3, LBP2, RUSE, Dead Space Extraction, Time Crisis, ok I should stop). Point is, they don't have to focus as much on making games solely for the Move, as opposed to the Kinect, so those who like Dualshock-only won't lose out.

@mundox I'm definitely watching for lightgun games to make a comeback. Hopefually Sony develops a new franchise on par with Timecrisis for themselves (not to hate on The Shoot, but I can't get too excited over cardboard cut outs and a weak "movie set" storyline that doesnt make much sense even in the context of movies.)

Don't you think it's a bit early for Sony to be poking fun at the competition? I mean they just got ahead of MS by finally releasing titles people wanted to play instead of talking about them for 3 years & they're already having Kevin Butler (AKA Jerry Lambert) making fun of Kinect.

@Prboi Excuse me but MS yapped about Playstation far more than the other way around, Go back and you'll see Sony minded their buisness the entire time MS was crowing about trying to "steal exclusives". If they took their time release games it was only to make sure they were the best they could be and not rush them to market.

What are you talking about? Not once during a MS press conference or commercials did I hear a spokesperson make fun of a product of Sonys. Saying that Sony's former exclusive titles are now on Xbox 360 isn't poking fun at Sony at all. It's a business move. Find a clip on youtube of Peter Moore, Don Mattrick or anybody saying something about Sony, the PS3 or the Move. If you can find a video or an article about it, then you win.

I googled Moore, and his complaints about the PS3, its price, its lack of 'anything I want', and Sony's marketing are legion. I'd link, but it's FUD and I don't care to promote it.

I'd google the other guys you named, but we both know you're wrong.

Besides, MS actually sent PR guys to do a BBC report on YLOD that was basically a fabrication. There's just no doubt that MS plays hardball. They've done it to many competitors and they do it to Sony. And Sony plays hardball. And Nintendo has really played hardball, back in the day.

I do not feel sorry for any of them, but let's be fair... MS indeed was willing to bash the PS3. I am surprised this is in controversy.

Seriously, everyone in this thread is wrong. MS plays hardball like theres no tomorrow, and the year that the 360 was out and the PS3 wasnt was filled with nothing but "rumble is a last gen feature" and "the Xbox 360 is more like Xbox 1.5" and "next gen starts when we say it starts."

Both companies are assholes. Deal with it.
