First Mega Man Universe gameplay footage revealed

The Mega Man Universe teaser trailer hinted at all sorts of cross-game franchise madness when it debuted earlier this year, and the first gameplay trailers do little more than stoke our curiosity all the more. Three teasers (courtesy of 1UP, GameSpot and IGN) each begin with an introduction from creator Keiji Inafune, and then launch into gameplay footage of this prettied up side-scrolling Mega Man title.

Whoops post got cut off, lol owo; What I was saying was, it looks like it might also have level creation from the looks of it. Trailer was a little bit dry, but I'll chalk this up to it still being in development, and it'll likely pan out by release.

So it's a remake of Mega Man 8-bit games with ability to play as other Capcom characters... kthanx... downloadable only title I presume?

@Lordd G From what I'm getting, it seems to be the Megaman equivalent of Super Mario Crossover, except from the original developer instead of as a fan game.

awesome use of the Megas music! those guys rock its sweet to see them get some love by capcom!

Trailer not working

Ugh...just got it to work. I am a bit underwhelmed. The first trailer had me thinking it was something beyond the regular mega-man game. (which I do enjoy)

...although...I think there is a hell of a lot more hiding in there and they are keeping the lid firmly shut.

Damn, you guys are hard to please. It's going to be a big new Mega Man game with different playable characters, what's not to like?

wasn't it a given already that Ryu was going to be in it? It shown him attacking stuff in the original clay trailer....... unless..... *gasp* what if the no way meant it was originally a joke and no way would they ever put him in there =/ *cries*.... oh wait... not like its coming to America... don't care anymorez

ps: I failed to see the online component of this.. is it supposed to be like castlevania hd? That might be coolish..

This isn't Rockman Online. That's a PC MMO that is (so far) only for Korea.

This is Megaman Universe, which is an XBLA/PSN platformer which will be released in North America, Japan, and (and likely) Europe, Oceania, etc...

Ok still didn't reveal much.

Is the GameSpot video screwing up on anyone else? The flash player is zoomed in by default, obscuring the video and hiding the player controls.

Anyone know how we report the issue?

Looks like a fangame... a very good fangame.

Okay, so there's three versions of Megaman:
-Rockman (which reflects the Japanese artwork of Megaman)
-Megaman (which reflects US Megaman between MM3 and MM7)
-Bad Boxart Megaman (MM1 US)

I wonder if they're just cosmetic differences, or if they do play differently.
