I maintain that Bit.Trip Beat is a terrible, terrible game.

While I have only played the wii demo, I'm inclined to disagree. The game has it's problems, but it's not a bad game because of them.

My concern for the iPad is that I don't like the extremely over sensitive tilt sensor on it. The iPhone was already oversensitive as it was.

@GiantGamer The first level is ok, but the subsequent levels are ridiculous. Just random dots flying in random patterns that make no sense. It's all memorization.

The damn game gets by on its faux retro appeal.

psh, nonsense. I can do the first two levels in my sleep. Almost every pattern in the game has a flow to it, either visually or matching the music. The game isn't designed for you to get a perfect run of it after a few tries. You have to keep trying and it will click.

I haven't beaten the third level on my own, but I fully admit it's because I haven't put the time into it. I was convinced that level 3 of Core was impossible until I manned up and put the time in to keep trying. I almost put down Runner at world 3, but kept at it and felt like a god when I won. These games are designed to break you down and make you think you'll never be able to pull through, then give you that epic movie feeling of overcoming the odds and winning. You just have to have the willpower to keep at it.

I almost got to the boss of Beat on the second try of the game with a second player who has never played it before. It's far from impossible. Once I get my new place set up, I want to invite friends over and tackle Beat again. It's the only Bit.Trip game I haven't seen the end credits to.

I've a love - hate relationship with this game.

The game is really fun with a greats sense of achievement. When you fail to achieve though, then the issues come.
