As for the video's content, we're compelled to relay that it looks awfully JRPG-influenced to us, in addition to being extremely lush and heavy on the flowing bits of fabric on characters' costumes. Other than that, well, have you seen Torchlight or Diablo? If the answer's "yes," you've got a good idea of what to expect.
Dungeon Siege 3 gameplay footage lays siege to your eyes

We got a first look at Obsidian's upcoming third Dungeon Siege title back at E3 -- and even caught a glimpse of its CGI teaser shortly thereafter -- but, up until now, we hadn't been able to show it to you in motion. Y'know, actual gameplay. That's just what you'll find after the break.

Damn, that was pretty slick.
This game is now on my radar.
Though I imagine that was PC footage and it won't look/run quite as well on console. Still.....

No apologies for consoles. Considering the hardware, consoles are quite competent.

@Not THAT Matt; I picked up DS1 about 3 months ago for $5 for nostalgia's sake. It ran smoother than ever on my Windows 7 machine.

I was a big fan of the first one (when it wasn't crashing) and I like where this is going. However, the MC looks like some kind of prince or someone of a higher class, judging by his outfit. I like the first because it was a sort of rags-to-riches story, cliche to be fair, but appropriate in a Diablo-esque RPG. It gave a real feeling to the progression. I hope they go for a similar narrative.

I'm interested in this. Especially if it comes out before Diablo 3

@Dalrint single character only, for pc, ps3, and xbox. wanted to make it more of a rpg than a hack and slash (that would be obsidians doing :) which i like) the first two games were to easy. all you needed was a powerful healing rain and you could beat anything... looks great imo

@Huma But the party control was also high maintenance on the inventory for everyone in the group. And I can't imagine how that would translate to the consoles and still be fun.

Wow, that looks pretty good. Loved the first Dungeon Siege, skipped the second one, but definitely looking forward to this one.
Off-Topic: Joystiq, please change the volume levels for advertisements in your videos. I sometimes watch your videos at work (read: all the time) and I put the volume all the way down...only to have the advertisement afterwards over ride the mute settings and I get a loud ad running. NOT COOL...
