We still haven't been told the names of the two robots cooperatively making their way through an Aperture Science facility in Portal 2, but that doesn't matter -- we'll name them Red and Blue. In the screenshots below, released today by Valve, you can see our dashing nonhuman heroes hitting switches, diving into portals and just plain oozing personality.
In fact, even without seeing them move, we can already tell all sorts of things about how they act together. Red seems a little more timid and reserved, while Blue appears to be a go-getter who gets things done. Then again, look at that swan dive Red's pulling off. That's a thing of beauty right there. Curse you, Valve! You've already made us care about them so much!

@Prboi Then what is a computer that runs Linux? There are many companies that dont support Linux. Are linux computers PC's or not? A Mac is a computer that you use for personal use aka a PC. The Mac/PC distinction was invented by Apple fanboies to make them feel better about spending twice as much for a computer that does less.
On topic- I'm interested in knowing whether Move is supported for the ps3 version. If so, I know which version I'm buying.

I only put that they forgot Mac because in past posts, the put Mac as well as PC. But Mac & PC aren't the same thing. Which why they compete against each other. It's like if they considered Xbox 360, PS3 & Wii to all be the same thing since they're all consoles. It just doesn't work like that.

Wow, those shots are beautiful. I bet real gameplay won't look much worse, considering what in-game videos we've seen so far.

I hope the co-op and single player narratives end up crossing paths at some point, like they did for the original half-life expansions.

red looks like a turret (or possibly another modded core?)

in actuality this pair reminds me of Toaster and Blender from the M. Rex Comic book

The very first Portal 2 in-game video showed a core that definately wasn't GlaDOS. I am betting it's that same core with arms and legs.

Why does this happen to me? I read "swan dive" here (clicking the picture, too (and then seeing "ATLAS", though my mind churned it as "ATLUS"), and finally get around to picking up that Let's Play of Animal Crossing: Wild World I had on hold only to see..."swan-dive". WHY THE COINCIDENCES, LIFE? Happens too often... Though I think many times I just don't realize it, I damn well think "swan[-]dive" is something I'd be better at recognizing.

Normally, these screens would grab my heart but as an Xbox fan who will only have the chance to buy the inferior version of the console release, I don't really care.
I usually don't give a crap about which console a game comes out for (although my PS3 was stolen when my house was broken into), I can't in good conscience buy a game which the developer has specifically told me will be inferior to the other versions. I loved Portal but until reviews say this version is at least equal to the others ( I don't care about graphics or steam cloud support, mostly just in game levels or items) I will not be buying Portal 2 on my console of choice, the Xbox 360.

Dude, I feel your pain. I have a Mac and a 360, and it seems like lately those two have been getting more crap than usual. But what both sides of the fanboy army fail to realize is that both systems have pros and cons, and Valve coming out and saying one is better because Microsoft is evil doesn't do anything but fuel the fire.
I'm still buying this, don't get me wrong, but it just seems like it's been a bit much lately.

@zebwinz I think Valve tried to get Steamworks support for Portal 2 on Xbox360, but Microsoft wasn't willing to be cooperative about that.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the only reason Gabe gave about the PS3 version being superior is the Steamworks support. So I don't think they will be that different, and it's certainly not a choice that Valve was trying to make.
It'd be a shame to skip what is one of the most anticipated games of 2011 just because of the semantics of what Gabe said at a PS3-hyping promotional event.
