80 percent of Power Gig setlist is new to music games

Here she is: the full Power Gig: Rise of the Six String setlist -- all 70 tracks of it. As promised, Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews Band and Kid Rock are all on board (for the first time ever in a music game, no less), along with John Mayer, Paramore and harder rocking from the likes of Mastodon and Incubus. 80 percent of the tracks have never appeared in a music game before at all -- pretty impressive for an original IP. Power Gig will have plenty of competition this fall, but it looks like the setlist won't be a weak spot.

Take a look at the tunes after the break, then scroll back up and answer this question: What's the absolute best song on the list? If you said Bad Religion's "I Want to Conquer the World," you're exactly right.

My thoughts exactly. Incubus are awesome, but they aren't anywhere near as hard/heavy as Black Label Society (NO "THE", JOYSTIQ!) or Disturbed, who are also on the setlist.

I was thinking the exact same thing. It pisses me off when people assume that just because Incubus are technically a 'metal' band that all their songs are heavy. Wish You Were Here is a slow acoustic song ffs!

@Mach2 is it just me or did they put Night on there JUST to say it was a new song for music games. I can name 10 Disturbed tracks I would pick before that one. Speaking of which, I'm LOVING their new record.

I see a lot of _bands_ that I would love to see in other music games, but not a lot of _songs_. I hope at least that this means these artists are willing to have their stuff in games in general, and not contractually barred from having their stuff appear in, say, Rock Band.

Finally some New Found Glory, some more Rise against and Paramore, and a little bit of Kid Rock all coming to Rock Band!

Interesting List though. Only hope that now with Rock Band and Pro mode, it'll open the flood gates to artist previously were holding out. Would like some NFG in my Rock Band as well.

Sooo.... yeah... there are maybe 3 songs on that list I'd want to play...

I feel so bad for these folks. This is SOOOooo not going to sell well... But when your PR department utters things like, "No one is more authentic than Kid Rock," the ship you're sailing on has much, much, MUCH bigger issues.

I respect the ambition behind this game, but it's going to absolutely fail against Rock Band 3 and yes, even Guitar Hero (if not just because of the fan base it has). Remember Rock Revolution....? Exactly.

Where are my drummers? This crap game has air drums for crying out loud. AIR DRUMS!! Will RB or GH drums even work on this, I don't know. And what about the guitar. Since RB is making pro mode which will use a real six string guitar as well, will the two be cross compatible. If not, epic fail. But this game is still an EPIC, EPIC fail for any and all drummers. What a crock.

@Aftrthought051 Drummers huh? You've never heard of Carter Beaufors of the Dave Matthews Band? Look him up. You'll be blown away. DMB is much, much more than songs like "Crash Into Me", "Dreamgirl" and "Everyday". Three of their worst songs, coming from a fan of 17 years.

Yes, thanks for clarifing to those that don't fully read a post. I'm not talking about the drummers. Great tracks and great drummers. I talking about the shant they expect you to play drums on.

millionaire by QOTSA and ANY mastodon song = winning setlist in my book.

Call me when a game supplies me with entire Built To Spill LP's... then I'll think about getting back into plastic instrument rocking!

I feel sorry for the guys who developed this, seeing as Rock Band 3 is doing everything they're doing and more.

So...how did you play this game again?

I hope most (if not all) of this makes its way to RB DLC.

Aside from Eric Clapton and APC, I feel largely uninspired looking at this list. I may give these songs a listen later, but it doesn't grab my attention the same way as RB3 and GH:WoR.

Damiera, New Found Glory and The Get Up Kids? those tracks alone blow RB3 and GH's setlist out of the water.

Blurry, No Such Thing, Ignorance, Wish You Were Here. I dunno if this warrants even a rental, but I hope the songs get DLC'd to RB3.

Disgusting list is disgusting.

All the right bands, but all the wrong songs....

I just took a dump that was better than this songlist.
