That reassurance doesn't actually reassure in any real capacity.

The fear is that they're going to turn into a cell phone game company, which is what Index does.

That could still be claimed as 'finest quality games.'

It would be a lie, but it's still possible.

Cellphone tetris is still pretty fun.
I gotta appreciate the guy for at least addressing what is one people's minds.
Shin Megami Tensei is one of the bigger brands in japan, so if by quality they mean they they'll actually have the content and themes that made the series popular rather than these jokes that were persona 3 & 4, then I am all for it.

I love you ATLUS. Give me Persona 5 and more great, niche games (Demon's Souls, Etrian Odyssey, etc.) that only you have the IRON-CLAD TESTICULAR FORTITUDE to publish outside of Japan.

Atlus is awesome. And I never knew how awesome they were until Trauma Center. Holy crap, that series rules.

I think this is one of the only companies out there right now that actually seems to *give a damn* about its fans.

I respect that.

Catherine looks to be bringing the Japanese flavored weirdness that this gen is sorely lacking. If it doesn't get localized, I'm going to be pouring over fan translations like a mad man.

All I really know about Atlus is that they gave me Demons Souls, and for that, I am eternally grateful. I also read an article one time that they have one of the highest Metacritic averages for the games they publish out of all the publishers out there. They must know what they are doing.

I think Atlus may have made it clear to Index Holdings that if they wanted Atlus to continue making money for the parent company, they probably shouldn't tamper with anything Atlus currently does.

I am already on track to buy 2 Atlus games before the end of the year. If Atlus were to start making cell phone games I would be on track to buy none of them.

I am guessing, and could be wrong, that Atlus has been making a lot more money than it used to in the last 5 to 10 years or so. This is probably a money thing, a stock thing, and possibly a way to cut costs as well. In the end, I doubt it will effect future Atlus releases.
