@okayplease Yeah, I know what you're sayin', brah. I don't even TOUCH a game unless IGN gives it a 9.0 or higher, you know what I mean? Only the BEST games get good reviews, bronelius.

@ViewtifulJason Here's what it reminded me of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iUMWy4hqAg

Turns out the headband, Monkey, Trip(itaka), the extending stick and disc(cloud?) riding wasn't just a coincidence. As someone who grew up watching the show I can't wait for this.

Really looking forward to Enslaved, but would have much rather had a 'Monkey' game!

I think Piggsy makes an appearance in Enslaved too.

Sweet find dude. You officially have reached G status (y'now, the status after F status :P). I'm not going to watch it in it's entirety to not spoil anything, but I do plan on watching 15 seconds here and there.

It seems it will be either Bayonetta or Enslaved who will take the 2010 action/adventure crown!

I honestly wasn't expecting this to shape up too well, and I really wanted it to. It's nice to see that it's at least a good game, if not a great one.

So I read the description and it sounded pretty neat & different. I then decided to watch the video, saw Goku & HeavenlySword chick, and then realized it was another Ninja Gaiden/God of War/Bayonetta/Devil May Cry and lost all interest.

I'm not surprised, considering who its coming from. Heavenly Swords major draw was the characters, their voices, their interactions, and the background to me. Gameplay was fun too, but just so damn short...!

I'm hoping this game lasts longer than one sitting, though it certainly sounds like it will!

There are a lot of great years and a lot of great games in recent memory alone.

Half-Life, Starcraft, Metal Gear Solid, Grim Fandango, LoZ: Ocarina of Time, Resident Evil 2, Fallout 2, Spyro the Dragon, Banjo Kazooie, Rainbow Six, Thief, and Baldur's Gate. Pretty hard to compete with that, although 2010 is pretty impressive so far.

...But it shouldn't cost me $300!

Seriously, it was supposed to be on PC, too! Where's the love, publishers? Microsoft - aren't you supposed to be in a PC-friendly mood right now? I'm not going to buy a console just because of a pretty game - you'd make more money from me by putting it on all platforms.

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze : Sadly, my budget does not include funding for three essentially equivalent computing platforms that just run different things. A portable console, I can see. They're at least differentiated in function and use from the major systems. But a platform-branded, limited-use PC with no keyboard, whose wifi card costs upwards of $40? That's where I become the angry Internet man - especially since I remember at least one article where it was slated for PC, before money-hungry suits got ahold of it.

@omicron1 the new 360 has built in Wireless N and does so much more than gaming now. I think I spend about 40% of my 360 time actually playing games now. I bought the 360 in 2006 and have gotten a ton of enjoyment from it. I think the current video game generation might have a few more years left to it, so you can still get some legs out of a 360 purchase now.

Plus there are a lot more games worth picking up beyond Enslaved this holiday season.

I am actually planning to spend the money I get from buying other games on Amazon on this. These guys made The Heavenly Sword before, so I know they can make gorgeous vistas and some fun combat. Just hope the camera actually stays with me in this game than The Heavenly Sword.

I can't get out of my mind that the girl is Nariko, even if she's not...

Why does she end up putting on the slave headband onto Monkey? I guess we'll have to wait until the release of the game to find out. Or maybe spoiler footage...

Anyhow, October is shaping up to be an exciting month.

Wasnt too sure about this at first, but after learning it was Ninja Theory behind it, my attention was pricked, after all, any spiritual successor to Heavenly Sword is good in my books :D And heavenly swords main drawback was the length. Trip even reminds me of Nariko :( I miss Nariko.

Game sounds wonderful, I'll definitely have to look into it more now. I've seen news of it here and there along with screenshots, but it's never seemed like anything more than... I don't know what, it just never seemed interesting until now.

I am a bit confused by the preview though with this little part, "this relationship provides one of Enslaved's major draws." You say that, but then talk about how the relationship pushes the game and you actually care about your character. When something's a draw, isn't it usually a con? I'm just confused, I've never seen someone say something is a draw and mean it in a positive way. Am I just slow?

My thoughts exactly! I've always had faith is this title and I'm buying it at launch to encourage more games of this type. Will not be buying any brown and blooms shooters or any shooters at all this year... well with one exception. Maybe Reach.

"...half of the fun is in finding the next handhold, the next ledge that brings you closer to the objective."

Maybe I'm not seeing it right in the gameplay vids, but it looks like the next platform you need to get to lights up or shimmers a bit. Is there a way to turn that off or something? It sorta limits the fun of exploration when they blatantly give you the answers all the time.

I played this at the Gamestop conference last week. It was already one of my most anticipated, and it didn't disappoint. I loved the team that's behind it, and I'm glad they moved to a more rounded out gameplay style instead of borrowing (stealing) from God of War. The screen shots also fail to do this game justice. The beauty, just like with Heavenly Sword, lies in the animations.
