Mafia 2 controls top of UK Charts for second week

i wonder y ure downvoted. maybe its the pc crowd that have waited so long for this game that they just have to love it. all i have to say is ure missing out if u think this is a good game. buy a console, whichever, theyre both soooo much better than this mafia2 garbage

@oboynesquick I'm not a PC gamer and I think Mafia 2 is great. If you think this is the worst game of this gen, then you should really play some more games. Even with the faults of the game (every game has faults) I still don't see how this could even be on a list for "worst games of this generation".

I doubt it. Mafia 2 isn't great but it's a hell of a lot better than a lot of rubbish out there. And I've played it so I should know.

@Meghterb1985 I really like it too. It's not a slam-bang actioner like so many clones of so many games nowadays, but give it an hour and it will suck you in for another eight.

The gunplay is satisfying and precise, the weapons are rendered quite beautifully and accurately for a third-person shooter. As a gun buff, I appreciated that. While the cutscenes are many, none are too long to really take you away from the fact you are playing a game... and the long ones are done well enough to elicit the right emotional impact the game was going for. I really want to kill this guy, I really feel bad for this guy, and I want to see more of this guy.

Problems lie in the fact that there are no real side-missions or choose-to in the story. For an open world, it relies heavily on rails. I want more choices, from deciding to put a .45 in my bedside table drawer to having to be selective with my clothing and weapons for the mission at hand. For example, if you want to take the long guns, you gotta take the raincoat. If you prefer the trousers and shirt, it's handguns only. Frame-rate stutters a bit here and there but nothing too terrible, and I felt the controls could have been tightened up a bit.

So! More side-missions, assassinations, more sandbox, more choices please for Mafia III. But until then I'm satisfied with Mafia II. The majority of people bitching about it are the spastic kids that need a linear CoD campaign where you walk down a block, kill 1000 bad guys, go into building, kill 1000 bad guys, and exit the building/turn a corner, and kill 1000 bad guys.

Mafia II is a really awesome game.
