BioWare fixes 'Shadow Broken' Mass Effect 2 DLC for PC [update]

PC players eager to penetrate the "Lair of the Shadow Broker" in today's Mass Effect 2 DLC release have hit a snag. The new content is apparently incompatible with ~~Windows 7 64-bit systems~~ (update: all systems), as reported by Big Download.

"I haven't said anything as we are working on the issue," noted BioWare community coordinator Chris Priestly in response to countless complaints (no really, countless complaints) on the official forums. "I understand you are all irritated by this, but we want you all to play, so we are working hard to determine and fix whatever is causing this."

Update: Priestly has created a new thread tracking the issue. Apparently, the original download was corrupt and prevented "all" PC users from playing the new content. That file has since been removed from BioWare's download section (though it's harmless if you did download it). "We are working on a fix for the issue and will get a working file up for PC users ASAP," Priestly assures, without knowledge of a more specific ETA.

Update 2: Priestly delivers the good news: "Lair of the Shadowbroker should now be fixed for the PC and should be able to be downloaded now for both the PC and Xbox 360."

I guess they just assumed everything would be fine when they put the files on their servers.

Yeah you would think that would be step two in the pre release check list, right after Upload file.

All game's official forums are like this. The Mass Effect forums are even worse once you realize they host the Talimancers. Seriously, that's what they call themselves, look it up.

Had I planned on getting this DLC for the PC I would now know to avoid doing so until a it had been fixed. Saving me time and frustrations.

Sorry, can someone translate for me? Looking at the last 5 or 6 messages on this guy's profile, he is a fan of Dragon's Age and Gears of War.

So he enjoys those two franchises, but he is OUTRAGED because a blog made a silly joke about boinking Liara?

The PC download is actually all 0's. They literally sold us a pile full of nothing with this DLC.

If you check closely I think there is a 2 in there *spooky music*

Im hoping I can bang Liara and still bang Miranda on the side. That black alternate outfit makes me require a discharge of my thermal clip.

No real worries, as much as I want to play this right now, it can wait. I got Witch Hunt to play!

This DLC is awesome, I hope it'll all be fixed for you PC users soon.

So many references... Some obvious, some a little more obscure, it's great.

While still quite awesome, I can only compare this DLC to a midget prostitute: short and easy.
