I enjoyed the first DR. Excpet for the stupid super mini tiny text. I didn't like that I coudn't read anything, so I traded it. Then a couple of months later got it back, traded it back out, and now I want it again. Geez....

But I will buy DR2 day one. And wow so much RE5 hate. The little I played (I stopped because I accidently droped the disc, and it broke) Was awesome, can't wait to replace the disc and continue.

I guess.... I deep down inside, part of me wants to kill every last one of them.

The pressure and the rush was kind of a turn off, especially coupled with the vast areas to explore. So many survivors died because I was window shopping.

Resident Evil would've let you. DR, nope, wont let you do that.

@Spookimitsu

(kill them all, I mean. RE would let you kill them all.)

Not enough Magnums and herbs in it for me. Too much dress up.

The day the Dead Rising series sells more units than the Resident Evil series, is the day I stop playing video games. Read: I still got lots of video game days ahead of me...

I hope it does because the last RE game and the one before it sucked.

@honkyjesuseternal

Yes, because it wasn't scary and it didn't feel like Resident Evil.

I liked Resident Evil 5 well enough, although it wasn't quite what I was expecting.

Was expecting more horror.

I'll say it. As much as I liked RE5, I liked Lost in Nightmares better. I actually felt afraid playing that. RE5 there were some stressful situations but nothing that truly scared the shit out of me.

Also... that said (and a little more on topic,) I don't see Dead Rising dethroning RE as the premiere Capcom title. Why not just be happy it's fairly successful and leave it at that?

This is a bit of a mixed bag for me. On the one hand, I'm not a fan of the new direction that RE is taking. RE4 was pretty awesome, but RE5 (while still good in its own right) had a different feel to it. If they plan on replacing the RE series with the DR series, I guess it makes sense to start taking it in a different direction and it kind of explains the lack of horror moments in RE5 (or I can at least rationalize it out in my head).

On the other hand, I grew up with the RE series and nostalgia prevents me from wanting to see it die. I'd rather see it end on a high note than peter out, but I'll be a sad panda when it happens.
