Because let's face it...sometimes even nostalgia isn't enough.

Ok I have to admit for the sake of Nostalgia and educating the younger generation on just how good they have it now I am very tempted to pick this up.

I can't count the number of hours I spent playing the Intellivision that my dad had back when I was just a wee lad.

@fallenshell

Same here. My dad and I would game hard on Triple Action, Snafu and a few other games. I was never able to beat him even once at BurgerTime, though.

Good times!

@fallenshell

You sure about that? I've played a number Intellivision a helluva lot longer than Kane & Lynch. Didn't need blood and guts to sell good games back then. Though a good dose of God of War III now and then isn't bad either. lol

Awesome, Congratulations for managing to fit .... let me guess 10.. no no 20? 1kb games on a 32+MB cart and asking people ..... let me guess .... 20.... no $30 for it?

I think we can safely file this under, no one freaking cares.

@Scuffles Good guess, maybe try investigating the sidebar before putting your economic prowess to work next time

Hmm never actually noticed the side bar before, I'm not someone who can't admit they were wrong. So I apologize for lumping it with nearly every other retro game bundle I have been exposed to over the years.

@ACTNJRD

It looks like the sidebar might be wrong.

Everywhere I find a listing for it I see it is $19.99.

http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=84183

I saw it on Amazon too, but now their listing does not have a price.

"it didn't fit the store's demographics"

Read: It doesn't have "Madden" or "Call of Duty" in the title.

Funny I read it more as

We won't waste money purchasing games for our stores that NO ONE will buy.

Yeah sorry not going anywhere.

While my initial impressions for the package may have been uninformed. GS is right on the money with not carrying the games physically in stores.

GS has according the them over 4500 store locations, assuming every store got a single copy thats probably 4400 more copies than they will ever sell. Even if the game is ~$5

The cold hard fact is no where near enough people would purchase this game to make it a viable investment on their part.

Beat me to it.

It could probably also be said "We can't sell it used for an insane amount".

@Drakkenfyre
Although they probably will. When they say they won't carry it, they probably refer to "new" versions. I'm sure they'll be happy to sell a used copy for $25 of pure profit--especially appealing when you don't have that pesky "new" copy to compete with it for $30.

The demographics of GameStop are soccer moms buying games for their kids. It will probably save some poor 12 year old getting some crappy game they don't want.

Happy to give my money to the publisher and skip GS on this one.

Insto-Buy to the publisher! SO damn glad it's skipping the GAME-our-last-copy-is-open-but-we-swear-it's-new-STOP.

Back to maturity: Huge fan of Intellivision - and finally, the DS will do it justice in having the Intellivision overlays emulated on the bottom screen. Thank heavens the two Dungeon and Dragon games are included (renamed for copyright purposes), and games that were never part of the console version.

It looks like the touch screen will simulate the keypad the old Intellivision games had (unlike the retro controller version which used some made up 4 button controller).
