Video: See Rock Band 3 for DS in action

Maybe you had trouble picturing our description of Rock Band 3 for the DS -- that it looks and plays almost exactly like Rock Band Unplugged for the PSP. Don't worry though, because we're saving you all that mental taxation by posting an actual trailer right here. Alll you have to do is watch!

it's sad that the portable versions put so little effort into the presentation. The PSP version of RB2 had reduced it to almost an after thought to the point where the band customization options were nearly non-existent. I can't imagine how dumbed down they'd have to be on the DS. They almost might as well not even have a visible band and just have pre-rendered video like they do on the Wii and PS2 versions.

well, RB2 for the Wii was a great game, i was extremely impressed how they made the band customizations, good online play AND DLC possible on it... so im guessing, that you are just outdated & talking about the first one.

Actually you have a point. I remember now that you say it the store I used to see RB2 on display for PS3 and 360 actually used GH on the Wii instead of Rock Band 2 because it hadn't come out yet. But the first game on the Wii much like the PS2 game did in fact skip customization and just used video clips. Which I still think they should have done for the portable games.

Anyone else notice that the game play looks more like Amplitude on the PS2?

@LeonX84
Harmonix made Amplitude as well, I believe. And that was a fantastic game.

@LeonX84 Yeah that was the point in the beginning. HMX said they wished they could do another Amplitude/Frequency for PS3 but because they spent so much time on the Rock Band franchise for consoles they couldnt do an exclusive but SOny was making their big PSP push with developers at that time and convinced them to give the green like to a similar style game on the PSP.

Looked good. I have the Rock Band for the PSP and it was good. Got boring after a few months because there weren't enough songs but it kept me entertained on those long bus trips I take everyday.
