Kinect Xbox 360 250GB bundle announced
40
A month after popping up on the side of the Aussie Kinect bundle box, Microsoft has officially announced the existence of the Xbox 360 Kinect bundle with 250GB hard drive. The package, launching November 4, includes an Xbox 360 with a 250GB hard drive, built-in Wi-Fi, a Kinect sensor and Kinect Adventures for $400.
On the same day, the Kinect hardware will launch on its own at $150, alongside the Kinect 4GB Xbox 360 bundle for $300. There's also the option of purchasing the 250GB hard drive for the S version of the console separately, but that's $130. At this point, the latest announced bundle is the best value for those looking to get the whole package. Oh, and they still sell Xbox 360s that only come with plain ol' controllers, if that's your thing.

Ok, so is the Xbox 360 unit suppose to actually sit on top of the Kinect device? Cause if it isn't, that is hella' confusing.

My sarcasm detector is failing me. I can't be sure if you're that daft to think the 360 sits on top of the actual Kinect device.

Ok, let me clarify my main statement: The picture shown above seems to have the 360 on top of the Kinect device. I pictured a person actually doing that, just to have it fall over. Thus the point of my comment (sorta). I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

You make your jokes, but just look at all of the ridiculously priced kinect accessories like a $50 extension cable!
Total gouging; especially when people realize how short the cable actually is!.
kinect mounting bracket? Another $50

They could include Scarlett Johansson and it would still be pricey.

Not at all, I defected entirely and shelved that thing. 5 busted consoles and 6 free coffins was enough thx.

I'm on my 6th 360 also and still lovin' it. My current console has lasted me over a year now (the longest so far).
Knock on Wood...
The PS3 is Great as well. LBP & LBP2 FTW!

OOoooo man I did that: The "this one has been working the longest so far/seems to be ok" line and I sh!t you not the *same frikkin' day* I got the E74 error ..that was #3 and I had to turn that thing in twice after that...
You better go anoint that thing with holy water or something.
Not even saying anything else to add to that for fear of jinx :p. Yeah, its decomissioned. But something has to play Mass Effect (till later at least).

Maybe I'm just lucky, but so far all my friends have had other errors on their 360s, most of them caused by heavy/improper use.
One friend had his disc tray get stuck and it eventually kept doing that thing where it reads a game as a DVD, another got a video error on his launch 360 at the end of last year (then traded it to another friend for a PS3), and finally my best friend's console had the HDMI port go out (though he's accustomed to bubble wrapping it up in a suit case for airline travel).
As for me, it's been over 2 years and not even the slightest hint of an error yet. I've had more issues with my PS3 than my 360 (browser freezing, AC2 freezing, etc.).

I was pretty diehard for awhile, but after getting what seemed like every brand of evil that thing could pull off...I finally had enough. I even went as far as built a happy little 'shrine' for the thing to make sure it was properly ventilated (#2 console) and make sure there was shock absorbers at the bottom in case somebody went crashing through the place while a disc is spinning.......and that system RROD.
I think the full history went complete 1 disc drive failure (it ground to a halt and actually made audible grinding sounds...let the rep listen when he asked me what the problem was, instant coffin send), 2 RROD, 3 E74, 4 All games mysteriously freezing (asked the guy what happened and he said it was corrupted at the factory they gave me 1500 MS points for that mess up), 5 refusal to turn on at all 2nd day getting it back.
Then I moved overseas and region coding now is an issue so I just bought a PS3 after I left and shelved it...
I personally consider owning a 360 at all that *works* is a trophy in itself.

Kinect*, and thankfully it does come with one. Joystiq just meant they have the non-Kinect bundle as well.

I thought the same thing too, but if you click on the "Aussie Kinect bundle box" link in the story it will show the entire contents, which includes a controller and a headset.

Personally, I'm not buying either, but if I did, I prefer the matte effect to gloss, so that would mean I'm stuck with the 4GB version?!
I don't see why the different packages should do that with the casing... :/

Imma wait for the holiday sales, if it's $299 for the bundle then I'd get it for sure... if it's $349 it would depend on whether it came with an additional game (preferably non-Kinect) or controller (such as the new one with the improved D-pad).
At the list price, forget it...

I think I'm the only person with an original Xbox 360 from launch, still no problems. I might have to get this since I'd love to get the redesign and I planned on getting Kinnect anyway.

If the 250GB Kinect bundle is priced over the $400 mark of the Sony Move 320GB bundle then Kinect is in trouble, especially with all the negative press it has been receiving regarding it's accuracy. The closer we get to this launch the more and more it seems like Microsoft is walking along a cliff with untied shoelaces. They're just asking to have this fall into an abyss and never get mentioned again.

How so? 250 Console 299.99 alone, Kinect 149.99 alone (no game as far as current reports), and the Kinect Adventures game, that is well worth the price. its a good holiday bundle and that's what they are pushing it as that. this is something that parents will buy for their kids and even themselves to play with their kids. its not going to fall off a cliff. and just you wait i'm sure eventually there will be COD style games and Gears style games utilizing this feature. and people WILL buy it.

So what's the European price? I'm guessing somewhere in the region of €340 - €360, would I be close? Not that I'd be getting the bundle as I already have the 250GB 360S. My aunt was asking me about one for her kids for Xmas. Told her to wait for this bundle as a 4GB 360 is just useless. She'll be happy to hear about this now.

i reckon the Xbox 360 Kinect bundle will sell more than the kinect itself, since just looking at the cost of Kinect will.......................
