PAX was awesome, but there was no way I was going to stand in the 6 hour line to play Duke Nukem.

PAX Canada would be very much appreciated. Even if it would most certainly be in Vancouver and well out of my reach.

Third largest game producing nation in the world and we still don't have a single notable game convention. :/

@koehler83 Even as a Canadian, I don't want them to do a PAX Canada. I want them to concentrate on making the two events that they already have the best events that they can possibly be.

PAX is something really special and I don't want to see them getting to the point where there's another show every three weeks because it will quickly lose that special feeling.

That said, if they did do one in Canada, with Vancouver being so close to Seattle, I doubt they would hold it there. I would say Toronto is much more likely.

So, you are suggesting--with two PAX events in North America--that they make the "international PAX" be in Canada? How gracious to the gamers of the earth you are. Why don't you cut to the chase and say what you really want: you want them to hold PAX at your house.

@Mcmax3000 Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa are all KIND OF close to Boston. I mean, I wouldn't call it a short drive, but it's close enough that if I lived in one of those Canadian cities I wouldn't bother flying to go to PAX. I went to PAX East and the five hour drive was fine(I live in New Jersey). I think they want to make it in a place that's far away from other conventions.

@Juddyfresh They are all fairly close but not as close as Vancouver is to Seattle. I flew between those two cities the first year I went to PAX (was a connection from Toronto) & it was literally less then an hour's flight.

I feel like PAX is turning into a corporate event. Instead of being an expo for the gamers it felt more like an expo for the publishers who were there to get the gamers. Instead of handing out swag like past years nearly every booth insisted that you wait in a 20-40 minute line to play their game to get nothing more than a stick and sometimes an XL shirt. Previous PAX's I was able to walk around with people throwing things into my bag with me hardly asking. From what I've heard it felt more like Comic-Con than PAX. While the show floor was impressive it felt like it was missing its soul.

Also the fact that they put the tabletop in a different building and the main events/concerts in a opera house spread things out to the point where you could only do one thing rather than being able to jump back and forth all day, if you did end up doing jumping around you became pretty exhausted. It didn't feel as crowded because the EXPO hall was larger but I wouldn't have mind if it felt crowded.

@LEGIONSINGULARGETHUNIT

Yeah I think I got better swag last year in general, and with less effort. Also Harmonix had a really weak booth this year compared to last despite a huge RB3 release coming. Maybe having multiple PAXes is causing companies to split their expo budgets.

@MyGirlHatesBox We need a good gaming focused event in Toronto but I'd rather have PAX stay where it is.

Anyone got the Duke Nukem "Steroids" bottle swag? I saw them get in trouble for handing them out even though it was just altoids.

Two days later, it just hit me. The next PAX needs to be in Rome, obviously, so that they can call it "Pax Romana".

1. Damn that is a lot of people. Here's hoping we can meet or beat that at PAX East this year.
2. Luigi looks nice, but Peach takes the cake (no pun intended).
2b. Stupid curiosity question: Are Luigi and Peach Asian? I know its a
dumb question, but can't tell.
3. Speaking of the pic, where did they get find it? I know I've seen it somewhere before but can't remember where.
