I wouldn't take this game for free.
The madden series has started to get really boring

@Sled I was recently a first time madden buyer. Being from the UK thats understandable, and I really really like the game. Always been an NFL fan as well.

I honestly have to say Madden 11 is not that bad. They fixed nearly all the technical bugs and slowness of loading things like the playbook after a play. Blockers are actually intelligent and the whole presentation is much better. If you have not played madden in a while it's not that bad of an idea to pick it up. This is coming from someone who was all over the screw madden bandwagon a couple months ago. I was pleasantly surprised. Just wish they would make PC versions again.

The last Madden I bought was 09 (and before that, the last football game I bought was NFL2K5). So I guess my powers of holding out are SUPER inhuman! In other words, $11 isn't gonna make me spring for Madden 11. Maybe if it was $20 or something.

@Trojan It's probably also because 2K5 was a ridiculously good game. For $20. Made me hold off on $50-60 games as well for years.

Now what do I do with these sacks of cash?

Oh well *throws in fireplace*

On a serious note, Joystiq, why do you have the MSRP listed as 39.99 USD?

I downloaded the demo on PSN... it almost seemed like after the play, when the camera closes in on a player, that they're skating on the grass... basically, they don't move up and down like a human does when he runs or walks.

Did they fixed this in the retail version? I want to get another Madden (as my last copy was 03 on the GC) but this one thing really irritated me and I wasn't sure if the bug was resolved or not.

I was going to hold off on Madden '11 because I've been in love with NCAA '11 this year... But, that price aint bad.

And on another note, the number of people who are so despondent about the NFL shutting out the 2K series greatly outweigh the number of people who actually played the NFL 2K series when it was being produced.

target was already selling madden for $49...and not just for one day...considering this game is just a little upgrade to madden 10, then $49 should be the starting price..and it's still to much..

The only way I was going to buy it is because my friends wanted to play and they are more hard code Madden fans then I am.

Given that they are not even interested and given the economy, this years game at $49 is $20 too much AND the fact that the local bar where they have weekly madden matches at the bar is going to be using last year's game, again should tell you something.

Amazon has had this at $49 for several weeks this promo knocks off only another $0.50 to bring it under $49. Sorry for the folks that went on launch day and payed $60

I am sorry, its just not good enough to spend the money on
