"Red Factions Battleground beta (invites will be sent via XMB message to select PlayStation Plus subscribers)"

..select Playstation Plus subscribers..
Really?? I was under the impression that if you paid for the Plus service you had automatic beta invites. I am very unimpressed by this service so far.

I agree. There is no excuse for it to only go out to select members. This will make some PS+ subscribers feel like they are being left out of a service they pay for.

And who cares about limited slots. Get more! I doubt all PS+ subscribers will use it.

@Kid Icarus no its was already known being a plus member does not guarantee beta access but that plus members will be given more consideration to get in betas more than non paying members...
basically being a plus member gets our foot in the door but its still up to sony to pick who gets in

I'll say this again. To everyone bitching about not getting into betas despite being part of PS+. If you bought Playstation Plus just to get access to betas, which are not full builds of games, then you need to rethink how you spend your money. If you had saved it you could just buy said game when it comes out. Just buy an actual game, pay the people making the games in order to play them... not Sony to play them when they aren't finished yet.

No need to be hostile chief. I'm pretty sure the number of people who got the Plus service just to get beta access is very low if at all. Betas aside, Playstation Plus is pretty lackluster.

Woo! Zen Pinball! That's 4/4 PSN games I didn't already own. Kinda weird that they're handing out Syphon Filter 3 before 2, but I guess 3 was released on the PS store first. Hopefully, they'll fill out the trilogy for me later. ^_^ In any case, screw the haters. Considering that this is just gonna be month 4 out of 15, I'd say a $50 membership is well worth it. I think once PS+ has been out for a year and we look back at everything made available to PS+ members, nobody will be able to say it wasn't worth the price of entry,

Yup, today marks the first day I even remotely played with the thought of subscribing to PSN+. Maybe one day they could make me a true believer (read: Team Ico compilation or something as equally tasty)

ps. the "select PSN+ subscribers" makes complete sense. If they just going to hand them out to everyone on PSN+, they'd might as well do a global open beta.

@squallgengar I envy you. That's 4/4 of games I already owned. I think I'll just stop buying games on PSN now. Well, that Sony plan backfired I'd say. I used to buy a bunch of stuff, way over the PSN+ fee. Now I won't buy anything. Ya. Not so smart business.

@MartiniMan I'm right there with you being pissed about Zen Pinball being free. Then again, I bet people who bought the (few) PS Classics they have given away for free feel the same way.

The only thing to remember is that once you cancel PSN Plus, you lose all the freebies. So if anyone buys any of the tables/expansions for Zen Pinball, they will be screwed when/if they cancel PSN Plus.

Sizes of betas vary for different reasons, based on what the developer needs. There are sometimes certain criteria that need to be met, which leads to limited numbers

I think the word you should be overemphasizing is "NOT", and not "BETA";

"This is NOT the beta we want Sony!"*

Only the 'free' games. Anything you pay for is yours forever, even if you got it at a discounted ps+ price.

Those discounted PSOne games are non-localized imports from Japan. A first Sony has done on US PSN, and from the replies of Grace Chen on the Blog it looks like they're bringing some more.

Cho Aniki looks weird as shit but as a sucker for obscure Japanese games i'm still getting it along with Gaia Seed. I just hope they'll bring Ore No Ryouri to US PSN later on:

Only the free games disappear, but they do come back for free even if you don't "resubscribe" for months in between. Too lazy to find a link, but I'm 99% sure about this.

I only paid for 3 months and I didn't play much of anything offered. It's a good service for the discounts and a few freebies, but only if you use your PS3 daily and have a regular amount of funds in your wallet.

serious question guys as a person who only owns a ps3 and ds I have a bit more money to spend on the games I buy. So I guess my question is to anyone who has ps plus is it worth getting or waiting until something really good comes out for it.
