Final Fantasy V may not have the most recognizable soundtrack from the series, but we trust that OCRemix's five-part ... remix of the fifth game's score should wedge itself quite nicely in our brainpan. Click here to download the first part of the FFV soundtrack compilation for free.

@koehler83 "Battle at the Big Bridge" has already been remixed out the wazoo. It's time the rest of the tracks that, had FFV been release when the SNES was relevant, would have become classic, instead of the situation where OC ReMiX only remixed one boss music and a few mixings of overworld music.

@koehler83 Gilgamesh is slated for "FIRE," which is volume 3. Hopefully coming out next year, depending on how quickly we get volume 2 (WATER) done.

I've been a fan of ocremix.org for years.
They'd be better off releasing a Mega Man (X) album.

@BrokenTriforce They are. It's called "Maverick Rising" , it's a remix album for the entire X subseries (aka tracks from all 8 games + Maverick Hunter), and it's pretty far along in progress. This FF5 project is being released now because, well, it's first disc is already done, unlike the MMX group.

Holy cow, covered on Joystiq! Thanks for the shoutout, guys!
I hope everyone enjoys the album! Everyone worked really hard on it and I think it turned out to be pretty good. :)
Hopefully our next one will be just-as-good if not better.

"Final Fantasy V may not have the most recognizable soundtrack from the series"
Really? I thought FF5's soundtrack was way better than FF4's, and had it actually been released outside Japan during its own generation I think this would be more widely acknowledged. "Battle on the Big Bridge" and "Hometown" are some of the best tracks in the entire SERIES, let alone the 16-bit era.
