The crossfire ad is fun, in a cheesy kinda way :)

So what was the "My Buddy" ad? Or I guess more appropriately what was the original product?

@2late2die

It was a doll for kids back in the 80s. Here's a youtube video of the original commercial.

@anoffday

One of my fondest memories of the holiday season when growing up was being able to see that Crossfire commercial at least once during every Saturday Morning Cartoon.

Good thing my family was too poor to afford that game, because I would have ended up losing all those ball bearings.

My brother and I used to play crossfire for hours. Makes me wonder if I still have it somewhere

Dammit Joystiq, don't remind me of my pathetic childhood, spending every day and night hoping for a copy of Crossfire, only to be incredibly underwhelmed when I actually played it.

Crossfiah!!! You'll get caught up in the... CROSSFIAH!!!!

Even back when those commercials aired I wanted to strangle that kid to death for saying "YEAH" twice.

WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE TWICE

Man Topher Grace's career really took a nosedive.

Was Spider-Man 3 really that bad?

Man I use to sing the Corssfire theme everytime I'd play on the same named map from the original Call of Duty Modern Warefare. "Crossfire.... You'll get caught up on it!!!!!" BAM!

Oh man, this is brilliant. A few years back me and some friends were throwing around ideas for screenplays that we were trying to write, and for some reason we got sidetracked and started watching old commercials on YouTube. Saw the Crossfire commercial, and a movie trilogy was born.

I don't know how it happened, but we must've spent over an hour throwing out characters and scenarios where these guys would actually fly around on these boards and play the epic game of Crossfire.

With Battleship and Monopoly being made into movies, it really makes me wish that we had actually written the damn things down.

While I remember the original My Buddy commercial, their spoof just didn't do it for me. However, the Crossfire one is simply BRILLIANT!

@glibglop

Didn't do it for you? I thought it was hilarious. They were at least as accurate enough to make sure that the first "yeah" gets two fists, the second "yeah" gets one fist.

I swear I hit the edit button on that last post and changed it to be relevant to the fact that you said "My Buddy" and not Crossfire.

/facepalm

I am 26, my brother is... 28 or 29 or something.

Anyway, I can vividly remember this commercial, and my brother and I BEGGING for one for Christmas. We got one, wound up losing 90% of the balls and stopped playing.

I'm glad you put this up guys, I was actually thinking of the song here a few days back.

Also, My Buddy (and Kid Sister) freaked me out. My mom had a Chuckie doll (Child's Play) and used to #@$& with me when I was little. What a bitch.
