Steve Young Football iPad commercials draw a Crossfire
22
Steve Young Football, a new iPad/iPhone game, takes a football field and turns it into a venue for bizarrely fun minigames. These two similarly bizarre ads for the game spoof a pair of memorable, early-'90s commercials. Are you ready to grab My Buddy and get caught up in the Crossfire?
And, for good measure, we present the original 1992 Crossfire commercial:

It was a doll for kids back in the 80s. Here's a youtube video of the original commercial.

One of my fondest memories of the holiday season when growing up was being able to see that Crossfire commercial at least once during every Saturday Morning Cartoon.
Good thing my family was too poor to afford that game, because I would have ended up losing all those ball bearings.

My brother and I used to play crossfire for hours. Makes me wonder if I still have it somewhere

Dammit Joystiq, don't remind me of my pathetic childhood, spending every day and night hoping for a copy of Crossfire, only to be incredibly underwhelmed when I actually played it.

Oh man, this is brilliant. A few years back me and some friends were throwing around ideas for screenplays that we were trying to write, and for some reason we got sidetracked and started watching old commercials on YouTube. Saw the Crossfire commercial, and a movie trilogy was born.
I don't know how it happened, but we must've spent over an hour throwing out characters and scenarios where these guys would actually fly around on these boards and play the epic game of Crossfire.
With Battleship and Monopoly being made into movies, it really makes me wish that we had actually written the damn things down.

I am 26, my brother is... 28 or 29 or something.
Anyway, I can vividly remember this commercial, and my brother and I BEGGING for one for Christmas. We got one, wound up losing 90% of the balls and stopped playing.
I'm glad you put this up guys, I was actually thinking of the song here a few days back.
